RGH Users Looking At That New Dashboard: Read This First!

Microsoft is in the process of releasing a new system update to gamers worldwide. The new 15572 update brings some new stuff and of course blocks the ability to perform the Reset Glitch Hack. It'll be the end of the line for you, if you don't have your CPU key or NAND dump. Here is what the new security measure means for you, if you have a Xbox running the RGH.

If you already have a backup of your CPU key and/or NAND dump, then you are fine, as that's all you need to perform the RGH after you upgrade. However, if you do not have either, then now would be a good time to get those from your Xbox, before you update. Other than that, you will need to have a NAND dump that fits these criteria:

• It was previously exploitable.
• It has to come from the same Xbox that you are performing the RGH on.
• For Phat NANDs, it has to be one from the 14717 or 14719 dashboards.
• For Slim NANDs, it has to be one from the 13146, 13599, 14699, 14717 or 14719 dashboards.

No other dumps will be work with the new dashboards from this point forward. Here's the implementation that's causing all of this:

With the new 15*** update, M$ has added a new key to their hash calculation for the rc4 key. It's basically just the first 16 bytes of the header, which include the version number, entrypoint, and size. These are all per-CB, per-version, so we cannot take a keystream from a 15*** CBB and use it to make a 14*** CB because the CBA on 14*** is unable to calculate the rc4 key no matter what we change.

 There you have it. If you have a RGH'd box and plan on keeping it, you want to make sure you have the necessary files backed up.
