A few months back, a new Liteon drive was discovered being shipped with Slim Xboxes. The Liteon DG-165S drive which was first discovered in a devkit has gone mainstream rocking firmware revision 1175. The new hardware revision meant something this time around as new protections are present in this drive. Due to this, no progress towards development can be made until the protection is broken.
Liteon 1175 drives now have a new encryption method which works on both ends. Although the drive has been dumped and the firmware has been retrieved, it still has to be decrypted before anything can be done with it. Until the encryption algorithm is figured out, progression is unfortunately dead for now. Maybe after the release of iXtreme LT+ v3.0, we'll see something going for this drive.
In other related news, the Hitachi 0502 drive now joins the Hitachi 0500 in the lineup. There has been no further findings for these drives as of yet.
