Looking for a nice deal when it comes to scoring yourself a new Xbox? Well Microsoft still has one for you, if you can commit to them for 2 years.
At the top of the month, Microsoft began selling the rented Xbox 360 4GB Slim console for $99 down. This thus committed the buyer to a 2 year contract in which a $14.99 payment is to be made every month. Alongside the console, you'll get an Xbox Live subscription to last you through your contract period. The rented consoles were being sold exclusively online to US customers when the program debuted.
Now, the program is expanding to Best Buy and select Gamestop locations, again across the United States. Now you can walk out of the store with your shiny new console instead of having to wait for it to arrive at your doorstep. Although the program is expanding, Major Nelson reminds everyone that this is still a pilot program.

So in the end you pay $460 for the old ass xbox 360? And by the time you get it payed off the next-gen consoles will have been on store shelves for ages... The fuck would you do this for? Buy a used xbox if you are that in need.

Your right is ridiculous that there are some ppl that will get this especially the parents who think this is a deal.
Why not save up for your system that's what I did when I wanted the ps3 when it was $400 not the $600 that's crazy lol.
Sold cans, cut lawns, car washes took me
Like 4 months. People nowadays just want shit easy.

the price is outragous but for kids who want to expirence what the xbox has its a cool idea they should have priced it better or included other accessories or games or controlers maybe even the larger hard drive and made it a bundle not just a cheap system but still with the "xbox 720 suposedly coming out in spring nof 2014 it looked like microsoft got the 2 year plan just right

you are stupid! you slave yourself just to get your hands on a xbox360. if you ask me, you are just as stupids as thoes who rent this shitty box for 99 dollars

It's suppose to be the XBOX 360S 4G w/Kinect which retails for $299.99 and it suppose to come with XBOX LIVE for the duration of the 2 Years which comes out to be with $14.99 Monthly payment to $359.76 w/o taxes, now that might be a little more if the stores that are selling them want to make money off it which Gamestop will do but not to greedy as Aarons or Rent-A-Center $600 after payments ridiculous!, so lets see what you pay without the payment plan of Microsoft $419.97 w/o taxes. so i say its a good idea to do the payment plan and please don't beg for the next generation gaming to come out early cause what ends up happening is they release them early they break down and people blame the company for listening to the people.

I think this creates a dangerous precident and I don't ever wish ill upon anyone, but I hope this fails or at least doesn't warrant enough sales to make it worthwhile.
Why would I say this you ask?
I can imagine if this does well, they may push this on the new generation of Xbox only it's a two year commitment on top of your $400-$500 purchase.

I think this sets a dangerous precdent, and while I never wish ill upon anyone or anything I hope this either fails or doesn't generate enough sales to warrant keeping it running.
Why you may ask?
I can only imagine them testing the waters with this generation to turn around and impliment this to the new generation(s) of the Xbox and forcing us to buy a 2 year commitment on top of whatever the price is going to be.

Totally agree with most comments(probab ly all of them)on this one.I really don't know who their target customers are supposed to be here, most people who want a 360 would have one by now.I really hope that kids too young to know any better can't sign up for this, because that would be pretty sleazy of Microsoft.
