Modern Warfare 3 Breaks All Time Record

Submitted by UnashamedVandal; November 11, 2011

So heres me, only a matter of days ago sitting here writing about Modern Warfare 3s poor Metacritic rating and blurting my opinion about how I believe the analyst were being to expectant of Infinity Ward most recent title. Analysts suggested that they believe Modern Warfare 3 will reach an unbelievable 6 million sales on its launch day, I didnt think it would happen, and for that I apologise. Not only did Modern Warfare 3 break the current record for a video game launch day, but it also out did the prediction set by analysts, thats right. The latest Call of Duty reached and incredible 6.5 millions sales on its launch day only, breaking every record in the book to date. This benchmarks Activision 3rd successful year of breaking its own records and bringing in a tasty 400 million dollars in sales, lets hope they put this into further changes for future titles because once again in my opinion, I believe the developers have been somewhat lazy with the recent game. Let me know your thoughts.

Well, I was a little skeptical at your post the other day, however I thought you made some interesting points, in terms of how the game seem stagnated.

I completed battlefield campaign mode and played online in the week prior to the MW3 release. However I found the gameplay bland, the cut scenes, although graphically rich were flat and poorly acted - no feeling. not at all convincing. I felt no empathy towards any of the characters. BF3 was also surprisingly short, and I felt a little underdeveloped in terms of character control - it lacked finesse.

On the other hand after playing MW3 I feel invigorate d.  My brain says that the environmen ts shouldn't be this enveloping in comparison to BF3 but they are.... The character control is fluid and comfortable (most likely due to familiaris ation), the  environmen ts are rich and feature filled - even if a little linear, but the story, acting and cut scenes are far superior to BF3. And as usual online takes the biscuit - despite the annoying 8 year olds.

A great improvement over black ops...
