Metro Dashboard Preview Begin Rolling Out

UPDATE: (11/11/11) c4eva has confirmed that the 'dae.bin' table (AP26 challenges) has been changed in this dashboard. Although backups are still working using LT+ v2.0+, there's always the chance that you will run into a flag. The updated challenges do mean that a new round of patches will have to go around for all affected games.

For those who are enrolled in the Xbox 360 System Update preview program, you'll be delighted to know that the Metro dashboard is finally rolling out to users. As we all know, this system update will implement the new Metro design that can be seen in Windows 8 and the new Xbox.com website. Not only that, the new Metro dash will enable several new features that will take the experience to a whole new level.

The preview starts off at dashboard version 2.0.14686.0. However, this may or may not be the final version that gets released to the public. Since I'm enrolled in the preview program myself, I'm obligated to refrain from spilling the beans on the update. What I will say however is that it will be well worth the wait whether you have Kinect or not.

I'm not going to go into detail regarding the specific updates going to be made available with the public update, that's what some of this post is for. If you're in the preview program yourself, drop a line or two and tell everyone what you think of it so far.
