As you already know, Microsoft did away with the Zune platform not too long ago. With that, the Zune Music streaming program also was a victim of the axe. Since then, rumors have sparked that Microsoft would be working on a replacement dubbed Xbox Music. Over time, more and more information has surfaced, which has started to shape up the upcoming service. In one of the newest updates in the latest dashboard beta, references to the service are seen. To add more to the details, the preliminary pricing setup has been leaked.
From what could be uncovered thus far, the Xbox Music app will feature synced playlists. (Maybe with your other Windows based devices) The initial prices are set to be $15 for a monthly subscription and $146 ($12 a month) for a yearly subscription, both coming with a complimentary free trial. Being that the first glimpse of the Xbox Music app has made it in a beta and with Windows 8 on the horizon, we can expect to see the launch sometime in the near future.
