Game Of The Year?

2011, what a year it has been for the gaming world. Weve seen the Nintendo 3DS, the PlayStation Vita and amongst this a huge price drop on consoles across the board. Not only consoles but as far as games are concerned, us gamers have certainly had our pick across these now cheaper consoles, however for me GOTY would have to come from the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. The titles these console have seen are phenomenal, and amongst these include the likes of Gears of War 3, FIFA 12, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception, L.A Noire, Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Portal 2 and for Nintendo Pokémon Black and White. Looking through the variety of pretty much genius in these ranks, it seems pretty damn difficult to distinguish which of them is number one for the year. In my personal opinion I would place Uncharted, Gears of War and FIFA 12 in the top three to battle it out. This choice comes from the fact that I love all these games and was never a huge FPS fan, which kind of puts MW3 and Battlefield 3 out the window, even though I appreciate what they have to offer. What would be your game of the year? Let me know your thoughts.

I'd like to say a PC game, because I like a good FPS. The closest that came to that is Battlefield 3. Great game. Everything is console ports these days, which is holding PC gaming back by several years. We have Guild Wars 2 to look forward to, one of the few PC games due for release in 2012.

Portal 2 was good (on PC), so was Skyrim, but at the end of the day they're xbox 360 ports, just like everything else.

Uncharted 3 does warrant a mention, a PS3 exclusive & the developers actually put effort into using the PS3 hardware.

Everything else just seems like a rubbish port from old hardware.
