Call of Duty: The Record Breaker

Previously I mentioned that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 broke the record of its predecessor by reaching a world recording breaking 6 and a half million sales on its launch day, well it only gets better for the big dogs at Activision. Modern Warfare 3 has managed to break all time records within its first 5 days of release, not only in the gaming industry but breaking records for book and box office launch sales…insane. In its first 5 days of availability the title managed to bring in just over a mind blowing 775 million dollars, beating Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 which both broke similar records on their release dates. This makes Call of Duty the only game franchise in history to break these records for three consecutive years, congratulations Activision. Not only this but the title also broke an all time Xbox Live record, where the game totalled and somewhat stupid amount of 7 million hours of online gameplay on its launch day alone, and that is just on Xbox, unbelievable.
