Black Ops II: The Money Maker

Black Ops II was destined for success, whether it would reach the sales of its predecessor was somewhat debatable. Recently, Activision has released some data to confirm the overwhelming wealth their latest title has managed to bring to them. According to this data, the game racked up a whopping $1 billion worldwide within its first 15 days on sale. This data was a big middle finger to many trade analysts, who suggested that Black Ops II mostly likely had a 20% day-one sales decrease compared to Black Ops I.

 

 

Naturally this was a huge boost for Activision and Call of Duty fans worldwide, in fact Activision described these figures as a strong milestone for the company and stated that they show "the strong appeal of interactive entertainment to audiences worldwide". The Call of Duty franchise has higher revenue than the top 10 blockbuster films of 2012 combined! It would appear that there is plenty of life left in Call of Duty after all... Another ego boost for the COD developers that they did not need.
I was hoping for bad sales, which would get the team back to their roots, and try something new and innovative.
I'll bet the next COD sucks, but I'm hoping it doesn't, because I am actually a fan of the campaigns. Just getting a little bit bored of the same clichés over-and-over.

I actually agree with you dude, great comment. The game has started to feel a bit recycled, I hope they come up with something refreshing for the next game.

By saying that the Black Ops II campaigns bore you with the same cliches over and over, you are inferring that you played it. Does that mean you bought it? If so, you are one of the many that made the sales good. And because sales are good, the devs/publisher is inclined to do more of the same.

If you didn't buy the game, then what are you complaining about - it's not costing you anything to stop playing.

Perhaps he didn't purchase the game, even so, I'd like to play the game properly but it would feel as if im paying for expensive DLC for the previous title.

I don't dislike COD but I'd like to see something fresh.
