AP25 Challenges Silenty Being Updated On Xbox 360

If you've been following the news lately, you would know that the dae.bin table, the file in charge of the AP25 challenges is being silently updated on the latest retail and preview dashboards. What this means is that backups that need AP25 patches will now fail, even if they have the proper patches from the latest dae.bin.

The silent updates are being done without any prompt from the user unlike previous updates where it was done during a dashboard update (i.e. 12625 > 13146) or during a title update. (COD: Black Ops) If your console is connected to Xbox Live, more than likely, it has received the latest 'dae.bin' table. Those who are now failing the AP25 challenges because of the new updates are being flagged. It is still unsure whether a ban wave is right around the corner to sweep the flagged consoles up.

At the moment, there is no way to avoid the updated tables other than disabling/removing the Internet connection to your Xbox completely. It was found that the new tables are also unique to each console which means the patches that the Xbox are looking for will not be common among all of them thus eliminating the possibility of the file being shared. The latest dashboard preview (14692) definitely puts the new tables into effect so if you are in the preview program, be mindful of that.
