If you're the type of gamer that isn't exactly married to the idea of the Wii U Gamepad, Nintendo has given you the option to use the Wii U Pro Controller instead. With a battery life that lasts up to eighty hours on a single charge, clearly this is an accessory meant for those that are looking to get into some serious marathon sessions. In the past, this remote has rightfully been compared to the current Xbox 360 controller, so you may or may not be surprised to learn that with just a little bit of mod work you can actually place the Xbox 360 analogs into the Wii U controller should you be up for trying something new.
By observing this video posted by Gametista, I would have to guess that the entire process should take you no longer than an hour but that doesn't mean that it's not without its fair share of difficulties along the way. To make this mod happen, you'll need a pretty full set of screw drivers to make sure that you can take out all the small screws on the controllers, but on top of that you are also going to need an Exacto knife and a soldering iron. Once the Pro is open, you use the Exacto to shave a small piece off the 360 thumbstick to allow it to fit, and then the soldering iron will allow for the analog to better sit in the Pro's deeper controller ridge.
I know that most of you will probably ask why even bother, but for those that really love messing around with the bits and pieces of tech this might be a fun little project for you.
