With physical media becoming more and more aged every minute, gamers are starting to see more and more hassle involved with playing titles on things like cartridges and discs. After all, storage mediums like these tend to get wrecked with constant stress or misuse, so why would you want to take that kind of risk when all of that stuff can be saved to hard drive or flash storage. As hackers, we've all seen the value of how playing games in a disc free world is that much easier, but now Nintendo is looking to bring that same level of convenience to the Nintendo eShop.
When one Wii U fan asked what titles would be available from the eShop on launch, they might be a bit dismayed by the fact that of course the rep did not release that information to them. However, the statement that followed next is quite interesting. According the this specific employee "a majority of Nintendo-published Wii U titles will launch both as a packaged game at retail stores and as a digital download in the Nintendo eShop," suggesting that the big N's digital presence should be quite a big one.
I know you're probably thinking that this doesn't say much for third party games, and you would be right about that. However, with Nintendo being the kind of company that loves pumping out so many first party games, you can bet that more or less all of the greatest Wii U games are probably going to be up for grabs digitally. That being said, I hope you all invested in that deluxe 32GB console to store it all should you want to ditch the discs!
