On the surface, the way the Wii U operates from the gamepad really looks quite intuitive and simple to use. As shown in the clip, a user can use the d-pad to scroll through various game thumbnails; and if it tickles their fancy, they can also navigate through touch gestures as well. Essentially, this is nothing different from what we have seen on any touch-based device that's already out, but I can't help but feel like this coverflow option would work perfectly for the console's digital store. The menus show an allotted number of choices, but then give the user the option to touch a button that reads "more categories" that further breaks down the choices.
Another interesting feature is how the center button works on the gamepad as well. Similar to what we have seen on a lot of Sony consoles, a quick tap of the appropriately drawn home button will give the user the option to quit or resume through two separate touch buttons. Once yes is selected, it appears you will be brought back to some kind of main dashboard. While this particular setup is probably some kind of specific demo-based OS, I would say the features mentioned here probably serve to be a pretty good indication of what we will see when the full system is out there.
