A Look Inside the Wii U Hardware and Its Release

Submitted by Christopher Groux; October 17, 2012

The launch of the Wii U has certainly been in interesting one. When it was first announced by Nintendo, a nice chunk of us probably had no clue what was actually going on with this new system. Was it an added peripheral for the Wii we already own, or is this a completely new console? Nobody really knew. Still despite that imaging setback, developers indicate that game projects for the Wii U have actually been in progress for quite some time now. According to a source over at Ubisoft, "we thought Wii U would come out a lot earlier. We worked very closely with Nintendo [on Wii U] early on, giving them feedback on the various prototypes."

Which makes us ask the obvious question, what could have possibly been the reason for all of the hold up then? It's possible the market itself simply wasn't ready to bring out a new system quite yet, or maybe there were quite few snags when it came to console design as well as marketing. After all, maybe some of those initial confused reactions made them rethink some of the products that they had been creating. No matter what the reason, I thought I would give you a bit of a closer look inside the Wii U that will soon be in your living room. In this transparent case, one can clearly see the marked out positions of the GPU and CPU that allow the system to function. Are you all getting excited for the launch window?
