When a new console gets released, everyone goes hands on to see what it's capable of. Developers are making no exception to this rule and they have been tearing apart at the Wii U. Team fail0verflow, who is known for their work involving the PS3, has managed to get the Wii's Homebrew Channel running on the Wii U. It's shaping up to be something similar to how the PS Vita started out, when it was first released. The team has released a demonstration video. Here's what they had to say about the feat:
We finally have a YouTube channel and we thought we'd kick things off with a little teaser:
Keep in mind that this is purely a demonstration at this stage. Depending on how things progress and what direction development takes, we may or may not release something like this in this form. Please don't ask for release dates. We'd rather spend time investigating the new system than putting together a release that may or may not end up being the Right Way to do things in the future ;) .
Please ignore the blue blinks. The monitor kind of sucks at syncing to component video sometimes. I would've used HDMI, but the Wii U cannot output analog audio simultaneously with HDMI (at least not for the Wii U menu part), and I cannot capture HDMI audio.
It's a start... You can check out the video of the Homebrew Channel in action on the Wii U below.

This may be the way things are for years before things start to take a turn for the better. This just means that all the wii homebrew is still viable same with the PSP homebrew. Just need top crack open the new systems themselves now so that we can start taking advantage of the new hardware and control schemes as I can think of several things that would benefit great from the new/better hardware alone. Emulators for starters like proper N64 support along with PSX support and maybe things like NDS support as well.
