If you've looked into unlocking the iPhone in the more recent years, then you've probably heard of Apple n' Berry. If not them then at least their popular unlock product the Gevey Sim. They now have a new way for a permanent unlock on your iPhone.

Whilst trawling through some tweets and other general sites, I picked up quite a bit of info in regards to piracy within the iPhone jailbreak community itself. But are we all in it for unlocks and free / pirated apps and tweaks?

Last year, the Dev-team announced that those with an iPhone 3g / 3G[S] could upgrade their baseband to the iPad one (06.15.00) but with a few side effects: GPS bugs (some cases not working at all) and you would be stuck with that forever. Well it seems that things have changed since that day

With the recent release of the updated build of iPhone 4 IOS 5.1.1 from 9B206 to 9B208, the original IOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak, Absinthe,  was also updated and soon after ih8snow updated Sn0wBreeze. Well, what about Rocky Racoon?

May 28, 2012

Yesterday we reported that Sn0wBreeze had been updated not too long after the release of the Absinthe untethered jailbreak.. And earlier today said how Apple had 'on the fly' released a newer IOS 5.1.1 9B208 which was not yet jailbreakable. If you were one of the ones who upgraded to it, we have great news for you.

Although we mentioned that there is now a downgrade method for those with an iPhone 4s and iPad 2 with their 5.0.1 shsh's saved, that doesn't necessarily help those who need an unlock or those who DO NOT have their shsh's saved.  So what does that mean?

A bunch of iPhones that are unlocked, regardless of whether you're working the traditional jailbreak or using the Gevey SIM, find their way onto to the T-Mobile network. Although you aren't able to achieve 3G/4G speeds on your iPhone, T-Mobile still welcomes all.

If, like me, you very rarely hook your iPhone up to your computer then it's probably for the best. Just over a month ago I told you that Apple had updated it's iTunes software.  Did you miss it?  If so you better read on before updating...

Software unlocks have always been a rare thing in the iPhone market.

April 23, 2012

Everyone loves toting around an iPhone that is jailbroken and unlocked. Apple has been making the latter harder to accomplish, by introducing new basebands in their firmware updates. This limits ultrasn0w, at least until a new update is released.

Restoring your iDevice to a CFW has always been a pain in the ass. Errors left and right, especially for those just coming into the scene with very little knowledge. Although developers try to simplify the process as much as they can, there's always one awkward bit. But while everyone waits patiently for the ios5.1 untether updates, the iphone dev-team have been doing some updates of their own.

April 07, 2012

It looks as if the days of consulting ultrasn0w and praying that any new updates would support your baseband or relying on other tools are over. AT&T is taking it from here, provided that you have an expired contract and you paid the bill.

March 19, 2012

Right after the release of ios 5.1, the dev team updated the well known tool redsn0w so that all devices capable of ios 5.1 were able to obtain a tethered jailbreak. Sn0wBreeze was also updated so that unlockers can upgrade their device using a CFW and still obtain their unlock status.

March 10, 2012

So not long after the Dev-team updated redsn0w, ih8sn0w (the maker of programs such as iREB and iFaith) has been hard at work updating his tool sn0wbreeze to version 2.9.2 to do the same thing.

March 08, 2012

As i stated in yesterdays post, jailbreakers and unlockers are advised to stay away from the recent ios 5.1 update for now. But to all you more adventurous guys and gals, the Dev-Team have quickly managed to jailbreak the update with the similarly updated redsn0w 0.9.10b6.

No No, it's not yet confirmed but folks at BlogdoiPhone had claimed that they had got their hands on a pre-GM version of iOS 5.1. They revealed that the lock screen will get a fixed camera button next to the slide to unlock button in iOS 5.1 and the tappable button will be replaced by a slider button.
