November 20, 2012

Just a few hours ago, Sony's firmware 2.0 was uploaded to the PS Vita live update servers. As usual, hackers have already been probing into the new code, only to discover that all existing public exploits have been blocked. Still, not all hope is lost!

Well that didn't take long. The experts over at Wololo have confirmed for us that there is indeed a homebrew-laden future for the PlayStation Vita's most recent firmware. Once again, this comes as an apparent stumbling block by the coders over at Sony to make any real progress at stopping a scene from emerging on their newly released handheld.

It's no secret that the PS Vita is somewhat hurting right now in comparison to the competition. While the recent 1.80 update finally gave us some PSOne classics on the go, there are still a few more holes that need to be filled in before this handheld truly performs as advertised.

Although Zer01ne won't be porting his latest exploit to HBL for the PSP, he will be doing it for VHBL. He has a broken arm but he's willing to get something done. This exploit is just like the other exploits are PSP exploits and work only within the PSP emulator of the Vita.
