WipEout 2048: What Could Have Been

We are all familiar with the game mode of Zombies in Call Of Duty, continuously slaughtering zombies wave by wave to attempt to ensure your survival, but only delaying the inevitable.  The developers working on WipEout 2048 wanted to throw their own spin on that however, and ended up putting some time into developing a new game mode for the game mode simply called ZOMBIE.

The game mode was simple, you start a race alone in the dark, with the "Zombie ships" eventually making their way onto the track and gaining on you.  Once the zombie ships catch you, a brutal beating of the 1000km/h AG Racing kind ensues.  Much like other zombie games, your demise is inevitable, but it is up to you to last as long as your AG ship can stand and providing you are skilled with the ways of AG Racing.

Now as awesome as this game mode sounds, unfortunately the game mode was merely brought to the prototype and testing stages.  Putting it simply, the game mode will not be in the final product.  In an overload of irony though, this has been said about the game mode: "Zombie mode is dead, but it's not completely dead".

sounds like it would have been a pretty boring mode, unless if you were dumped in a large large large arena, not track, with weapon drops everywhere...
