Shocking News from Wololo

Submitted by tbag; April 01, 2012

Today is a truly sad day for the scene, this morning on his website Wololo stated that he would be leaving the homebrew scene. For those of you who don't know who Wololo is he has been a driving force on the PSP and Vita development for quite some time and has contributed to it greatly and he will be missed. I personally have had the pleasure of speaking to him directly and you can see the interview HERE.  Have a read of his statement below as he says good bye.

For a while now Ive been thinking about leaving the PSP/Vita scene. Ive been active on the PSP scene for more than 5 years, first as a homebrew user, then as a homebrew programmer, then as a hacker, and recently focusing on blogging/managing the community as well as exploring the new PS Vita. Its been a fun ride, but everything has to end one day or the other.

On the one hand, these 5 years have been some of the most exciting in my life. Ive met plenty of awesome people, some of them who left before me, some of them who will leave after me. Ive created a homebrew Im proud of, which hopefully will keep going on, Ive directly contributed to opening the PSP 3000, the PSP Go, and the PS Vita to homebrews, Ive organized the biggest PSP homebrew competition ever, and Im proud to think Ive helped people gathering knowledge on these systems, through my tutorials and the /talk community.

On the other hand, all of this takes lots of time, and Ive had my share of pressure recently with the Vita exploits. It seems the community is not ready for more hacks, and I understood the message.

Last but not least, I want to thank everybody whos helped me in the past 5 years, its been a blast.

So long, PSP scene.

I hope you didn't think that was for real and you caught the hidden message in his statement. Its April 1st and the dev's are all having their fun with everyone so don't be too surprised if you see something to good to be true or something like that... you'll just end up with egg on your face, but its all in fun.

Happy April Fools

hahaha (nervous laughter). That scared the crap out of me! We love the scene and I especially Wololo.

/Junaz is a fully hackable PSP 2000 with a dead pixel

/Vamese is a PSP 3000

/Fenroar is a PSP 2000 of the latest breed

... All of them are armed to the teeth with the best homebrew the scene has to offer and it is all made possible by the great contributors to the scene. Too many have left already. I can't bare to think about a future without anybody left to keep my triforce of PSP's happy and safe.
