PspStatesMenu v0.2 Released

Submitted by greg; July 13, 2011

PspStates is cool... You can save the state of any game, at any point in the game, and resume from that exact state later on. The PSPgo offers a similar feature; however, you're limited to only 1 game and 1 save state at a time. Dark_AleX's version -- yes Dark_AleX is the PspStates originator -- lets you save up to 9 game states, for different games, using different key combos. The problem? Remembering what key combo was used for what game. That's when plum comes in, creating convenience by adding a PspStates menu system. Press the Home (or PS) button and then R+L Triggers to bring up said menu. From there you can select your slot by pressing Circle or delete a save state by pressing Triangle and X closes (or backs out) of a menu. Activate both pspstates.prx and states_menu.prx in seplugins/game.txt. Enjoy! Download: PspStatesMenu v0.2 (includes PspStates) - source: @plum_429

Try disabling other plugins first.

Sweet. I love the PSP States plugin.

Got a quick note on it though: Don't save a state with a UMD and try to load it with an ISO or vice-versa. The PSP doesn't like it. ;-)

Got a helpful tip too: With games that take forever to load (referring to the title screen here) with the CSO/EBOOT/ISO/UMD (such as Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade), create a save state after the disc boots (preferably with the "Load" option already selected). The next time you want to play your game, immediately hit HOME as it's loading, hit the key combo, and load your state. Instant loading. ;-) And yes, I'm quite aware that you can just save the state with the game already loaded, but that is 4 separate save states out of 9 for just Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade.

Thanks to all the hackers still in the scene. I appreciate all your hard work.

PS: The reason I pointed out CSO, EBOOT, ISO, and UMD is because I tested it with all 4 methods. I've legally purchased 2 UMD copies and the PSN copy of the above game for those that may think I'm a thief.

in your game.txt follow sequences of entry
ms0:/seplugins/pspstates.prx
ms0:/seplugins/states_patch.prx
ms0:/seplugins/states_menu.prx.

if does not work try to do different sequences of entries

On game.txt, add:
ms0:/seplugins/states_menu.prx 1 ms0:/seplugins/pspstates.prx 1

Also make sure that you have copied the SAVESTATE folder as well as states_menu.prx and pspstates.prx on the seplugins folder as the plugins don't create folders.

Awesome concept. Especially useful for those picky game with their "special" methods of saving that seem ridiculous at times.

Thanx guys i solved the problem by putting the seplugins folder in the internal memory rather than in the memory stick.

does this work for pops (popsloader, ps1 games)? is there anyway we can get it to work for for pops or do we have to wait for a new version?

Are you using it for a PSP GO? If yes, then try moving the plugins to the internal memory.

Works on PSP GO
6.20 PRO-B8 Permanent
Model: 05g
This is the best save state ever it's faster than before and it has an accurate menu to save 10 slots!

Instructions for PSP GO users:
1.Open the rar
2.Open seplugins folder in the rar and put everything  (EXCEPT the game.txt) inside the seplugins folder in the PSP Go's "System Storage".
3.Now open up the game.txt in the PSP GO and copy this inside it and save:

ef0:/seplugins/states_menu.prx 1
ef0:/seplugins/pspstates.prx 1

I wish they made something like this for the music in game. The shitty music plugin the have now is very limited, it can only play small files and you can only choose between the first few songs you have and you have to scroll between them one by one.
If they made something like this with the music in game it would be better than IRSHELL. I remember when I used to use IRSHELL. The only reason I used it was to play my large music collection in game and choose the songs from my organised albums.
