WebTastic 1.1 Makes Web Browsing Easier

Submitted by Christopher Groux; September 25, 2012

When ot comes to browsing on a mobile device, these days there are so many options to choose from with an array of different specifications. It's obvious that a new iPod Touch for example is going to have a lot more RAM at its disposal than that PSP phat you have over there sitting in the corner. Many manufacturers and web designers have certainly done their best to make sure that their sites function well despite such obvious differences, but the reality is sometimes that just isn't the case.

This multiplatform app released by a developer known as FouadtjuhMaster tries to simplify that process for you by more or less operating like most other commonly used bookmarking software products. For the PSP specifically, once the program is booted, a user is taken to a screen where they can choose from a variety of different web apps that are best-suited for the device you are using. Rather than work through all the resource sucking processes of posting a status to your Facebook from the full-featured site, Webtastic will bring you to something that will work well for your specific browser instead. Certainly the more powerful systems are going to have a lot more options available to them when it comes to mobile apps, but at the very least this is a pretty interesting way to cope with the shortcomings of a clunky browser.

This isn't even an "app", it's just a take down of the PSP's default browser. The guy made ripped down the browser, removed the three tabs, the menu (so no bookmarks whatsoever), and the worse part of all, the "hidden mouse", he made the mouse "invisible", so now you have either to guess its position or use the arrow keys, which isn't always efficient.
The web-apps are nothing but redirects to the usual sites you use, it even has a short-cut to m.youtube.com which doesn't work with the PSP.
Lame, don't bother downloading it.
