Video: 6.38 Kernel Exploit Found

My man, Total_Noob... He's again discovered a working kernel exploit in PSP firmware version 6.38; feast your eyes on this:

No release plans, as per TN's video description:

I decided to spend some time to find a new Kernel Exploit. This is the result after one week. It is not going to be released, 'cause there's no ISO-Loader integrated, so you guys are probably not content with it.

But hey, it at least gives a glimmer of hope to those currently unhacked on 6.38. Stay tuned!

What he's saying is that he's not gonna release the exploit because we prefer PRO-B to TN-HEN? I suppose that means we have yet another dev who is against piracy, for whatever reason? Fuck you, TN. And I'm already on custom firmware (PRO-B5 by the way), so I'm not even affected by that, but those guys on 6.37 and 6.38, I used to be at their place some time ago, waiting for an exploit for about a year and a half. Firstly, a good amount of games are still coming out for the PSP, and if you're not aware of it, it's the number one console in Japan right now, even after the release of the 3DS. If you don't like the new games, or if you don't know about them, that's a different story. Not every game is Crisis Core and Ghost of Sparta you know. I don't even like those games.

Secondly, DS is just as "cracked" and "hacked" as the PSP, only thing you need is just a flashcart.

Thirdly, custom firmware does not necessarily equal piracy.
It IS supposed to equal complete freedom though. And TN doesn't seem to support that anymore. Maybe he's scared after the story with Geohot, but for me, that's still not a reason to act like a 12-year old. If he doesn't want to release the exploit, he shouldn't have posted this video at all.

Uh... If I read it that way, it means he's just pissed off people are using PRO-B (which is the only current CFW that offers an integrated ISO loader, as far as I know) instead of his own TN-HEN. If that was his ONLY problem, it'd make him even more retarded in my eyes, because people can use whatever the hell they want. Just because Total-Noob cracked 6.20 first doesn't mean we have to use HIS enabler. In case you got it wrong, Total-Noob is NOT planning on integrating an ISO loader on his HEN.

DS is going to beat PS2 in the sell record this year probably, so don't tell that PSP's situation is so good. More and more developers resign to release their game on PSP, for example, Assassin's Creed 2, LBP2 or The Force Unleashed 2. Also, there are no new NFS's on our console. It's nearly a dead platform.

Regardless of what you guys may say, you have to admit TN is acting a little foolish. It's one thing to offer support and then POLITELY request some extra feature, it's another to outright attack someone you don't even know because they aren't bending over backwards to comply with your capricious demands. Some developers of this stuff don't like piracy, and to that end maybe they don't want to support it. Instead of whining about how "they don't know you", recognize that YOU don't know THEM and they don't owe you anything. Stop getting your manners from the dysfunctional freaks on reality shows and actually treat people with some dignity for a change. No one, anywhere, NEEDS to have PSP games. If you can't afford games, my position is: too bad, that doesn't give you the right to steal it.

The only legitimate use of ISO loaders is to store your own games on the memory card both to enhance portability and enhance load times. I do this myself, so I recognize that this is a good reason, but don't be surprised if the developers of custom firmware come up with their own signing package for a special iso loader some day. One that will only play ISOs signed by a special ripper for that specific PSP. It'd be an attempt for custom firmware makers to reach some middle ground with Sony, and I'd support it fully.

No offense but if you updated I don't really feel sorry for you. I am completely content with my PSP right now. It's permanent, it plays psx games and can do pretty much anything I wish. I rip my games off of UMD so they load faster. It's awesome in every way. But when it comes to CFW a lot of people are never satisfied. Total_Noob has helped pave the path for CFW. If he doesn't want to release his work then that's his choice. If you really want a 6.38 exploit then you take the risk of screwing your PSP up and figure it out yourself. Here's a note of advice though. If you don't have 6.38 then just don't update. That simple.

Why is everybody making so muchproblems about the fact he isn't releasing this? He never stated he wouldn't release a better enhanced version of this exploit, this is probably just a proof of concept.
He never stated he was against piracy and therefore is not releasing it.

it is an exploit. It was never said that the firmware would be changed in the video. People, stop raging at him. Being a dev isn't easy work. If you like or want to use his work, stop complaining. I had my psp slim the day it came out and have probably only played a total of 1 hours worth of gaming since ( with official games ) and the rest of the time is sat on my throne playing Tetris.

I love following the progress of the ppl hacking the psp, ahhh... I remember the day we all found out that M33 was Dark Alex avoiding a lawsuit. Remember the day that the 1.50 kernel add-on became avaliable for the phat. The day that service mode battery soldering instructions came out, swiftly followed by a software alternative to soldering, The day dark alex released Despertar Del Cemeterio and then Time machine, and THEN LEDA!!!! The GTA save exploit and then that other shite lil game forgot name of for cracking the slim via save data.

These are exiting discoveries that take alot of work so all u little wankers shurrup ok?

It's troubling how many people I've seen bitching because there is no ISO loader in his recent stuff. Thanks to these people there are other people who actually appreciate his work and are missing out. He's work contribution benefited all user not just only in TN hen but also in Pro because the PRO developer are using the work of TN. If you remembered the last CFW developed was 5.50 gen or prometheus, I think it was stopped at the middle of 2009 then, TN came to the scene it was on December 24, 2010. After the released of first TN hen for 6.20, the PRO hen came it out they copied the work of Total Noob that you calling a little boy. If not just the work of TN the PRO doesnt came out. Am i right? My PSPgo just got shipped back from Sony repair... fresh with 6.37 OFW installed against my will. With PSN down (so I can't re-download or buy any games) and no CFW, this handheld is basically a brick.

It will never be released because it s not real i searched google and found the exploit but did not worked.Try using Daves`s downgrader to downgrade to 6.20 and then upgrade to cfw.The link is:
