TN HEN Will be Released for PSP Firmware 6.35

Yeah, yeah... I know it was scheduled for a November release, but when Sony out of left field released PSP firmware 6.35 that changed things a wee bit. Total_Noob was blindsided and now, seeing as 6.35 doesn't patch the kernel exploit, Total_Noob is porting his hack to that firmware. But now you're probably thinking, "hey ... 6.35 patches the HBL exploit, how are we going to activate Total_Noob's HEN without it?" Well Total_Noob is said to have more hacks in his backpack. Open a random compartment and what do ya know -- it's another VSH user mode exploit. From user mode to kernel mode we'll be homebrew enabled to the fullest! Wololo contacted TN concerning all this and TN simply replied with: "Ill release HEN for 6.35 with VSH Exploit" Make sense. There is no set date however. In the end this is good news for people who've updated to 6.35 already. And it's pretty cool if you think about it -- you'll get all the latest firmware features, including Music Unlimited, and hacks, homebrew and plugins! Oh and before anyone claims TN to be a fake or something silly like that, remember Wololo confirmed 6.20 HEN to be legit. That said it might be wise to keep active on firmware 6.20 until TN does deliver the goods. - source: wololo

aye no suprise there iv been saying this for thae last few days, why not 6.35 TN it means all can get full access no matter when you bought your psp, even brand new ones for xmas :)

to the person who was talking about 6.36, last i checked 6.36 wont be around till sometime later this month. my guess is right before christmas so that all the ppl who get 2nd hand older psp's for christmas end up updateing right away not realizeing that they could hack it and keep it at a lower firmware with not just more use but in alot of ways BETTER use. anyway, my prediction is 6.36 will be released by sony a day or 2 before or a day or 2 after christmas. WATCH, IT WILL HAPPEN. TN needs to release this immidiately after 6.36 is realesed so that hopefully 6.36 does not fix the exploit AKA fuck shit up, lol.

pandoras battery will never work simply because of how the psp is structured. Even if you do somehow get it in service mode, unless its the current or newer firmware versions the Pre IPL check will not allow the psp to boot. In other words, if your 3K is bricked, the only way to get it back is to have sony or one of sony's certified technicians to fix it.

Actually, ALOT of psp titles are coming to PSN opposed to UMD. Also, a example of a good game recently released is Valkyria Chronicles II, which got 9/10 minimum across the board, and 35/40.

PSP titles just arent as desirable not because sony doesnt publish them but the demand for psp titles are so low its not even funny. The DS outsells it 3:1 easy. And thats shitty parts + shitty graphix + shitty games.

Try "Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What did I do to deserve this?", its a great simple game ^^

As to sony not caring about the psp anymore? We saw that back in march when the new mobo was released. You know, the uber bare one?

Well, HBL made my PSP kinda usefull already by making me play awesome homebrew games like Cave Story and Mother 3 (English patch, using the GBA emulator).

There are only few games in the PSN store that I actually like to play, and those are merely games like Worms and Lemmings. Some of the mini's are cool as well, you'd easely know about the better mini's if you look around the internet. Other than that, I really don't see how games like God of War could be fun on a handheld. Maybe with a cable on the TV, but that's not the primary point of a handheld.

Last year I bought a few UMD's like God of War, Killzone Liberation, and Wipeout Pulse for $10 each, and other than Wipeout, I haven't really got into any of 'em.

And then to realize that PSPGo users are all attached to the PSN store.. They're lucky that Sony prepared their Go's with the Patapon 2 demo pre-installed, so that they are ready for the real games!

think of porting as another word for transfer. Basically all they do is put the HEN on newer version (like 6.35) and make it 100% compatible. Of course, its not that simple, theres alot of man hours which bugs are fund and fixed, and potentially features are added aswell.

1; 6.20 has been out for at most a half a year. As such, the project didnt start until october. We were ten recently told its guaranteed to be out before christmas.

Be patient. back in 1.50, people had to wait LONGER to get their old fat psps hacked. You can wait 3 more weeks.

PSP 100x, and EARLY 200x downgrade via Pandora's Battery. If it can use a pandoras, its able to use CFW.

NEWER psp 200x and psp 300x/GO CAN NOT and most likely will NEVER EVER EVER EVER be able to use CFW. Its due to a Pre IPL check which makes sure tis sony branded OFW. If it fails that check, the psp wont boot.

I think the Pre IPL may be updated with the firmware which prevents it from rolling back to older firmwares. Perhaps its not. But a downgrader most likely wouldnt work in any case due to the fact that we cant boot it in service mode reliably. Theres also no software capible of downgrading new psps.

Again, PSP 300x/GO CAN NEVER BE DOWNGRADED. People, please get that hope and delusion out of your head until a high time hacker *cough*darkalex equivelent*coug h* proves me otherwise.

According to TN (who is obviously trusted in the PSP seene) has said downgrading IS possible. So maybe you need to go do some research yourself.

That said I honestly thought downgrading was not possible because of the IPL but we have been told fibbs before as GEN did say it wasnt possible to run homebrew on 6.x.x

If TN says its possible, I'd definitely say that hes a "DarkAlexEquivel ent" hacker, neh? So if he, as again, I said "Proves me wrong", then I admit defeat to that fact. Theres moe than research, look at people's statements.

Furthermore, Technology and what we knew back then made us believe that homebrew wouldnt be possible on newer systems due to such tight security. Obviously, we found a flaw and exploited it.

I personally wouldnt trust a downgrader until its confirmed running on all boards of the psp and has been reliably released for a month. To me, even the slightest chance of bricking my psp 3K is just too great. Of course, I have 2 others that are already hacked, so the 3K is more for leasure if I decide to hack it.

Perhaps TN will include his downgrader with his HEN. HOWEVER, if TN claims that the 3K can indeed be downgraded, why go through the troubles of porting? Why not make an extremely basic HEN that has a autolaunch for the downgrader put into it, thus bringing the psp 3K back down to say 5.03, 5.50, or 6.20 (once his HEN is released)?

Furthermore on the issue of downgrading, How will it effect the new TA93 motherboards, which shipped with 6.20 minimum? Will downgrading it further brick it?

If HEN works on 6.35 then a downgrader isnt necessary nor should it be desired.

No. Usually HEN/CFW has a integrated ISO/CSO loader, but TN is not incorporating it into his own HEN. However, expect a ISO loader to be released shortly after TN's HEN

To elaborate, what happens is theres been a ISO loader for HBL already, but it needs to dump the entire ISO to decrypt it, thus requiring a huge memory stick and incredibly long loading times. Since in Kernel mode, it does not need to dump to decrypt, thus faster loading times.

That said, since we already have a working ISO/CSO loader in the works for HBL, it would only need a few modifications to be ported to a hen, which would probably take a hour or so. Hence why its expected to be released shortly after HEN.

because 5 months max is ages. I waited 4 years to get my own computer and I had to build it then at that point.

and I had my psp 1001 for 3 years legit til my friend hacked it, which then it bricked so I had to wait another year to make a pandoras battery to unbrick it.

I think you can wait a few more weeks, and if not, I really dont know what to tell you. Buy a laptop next time?

PSP 100x series is indeed the best for hacking because we know almost everything to it including its source code. 200x is nice too for the av out cables. Personally, I'd avoid the 300x for a month or so until a good iso loader is out and the HEN's bugs and glitches are all fixed up. But, thats just me on the cautious side.

I still haven't fully understand this hacking processes. So, HEN for 6.35 will just do what? Will it let me play my CSO games like DISSIDIA, etc? And what exactly is this pandora battery? What does it do? Someone explain it to me please. It just happens that I've updated my PSP 2000 to 6.35 from 4.xx because I can't play some games like Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep not knowing that this new firmware doesn't play me any downloaded games at all.

TN i really admire your your work you have come a long way in your hacking skills, DARK ALEX used to be the best, he alone was better than the entire gen.d team, and now your starting to surpass even him. hen hacks are very usefull for the new psp models and firmware, but for those people who have old models and new firmware, u should program your hen to allow cfw, because a psp hacked with cfw is more than just a super game console its also a portable computer. I highly recommend you to allow cfw toinstal
