TN-A Exploit can be Ported to 6.30 and 6.31 Too!

But! ... There is always a but. So don't get all excited just yet; Total_Noob isn't releasing that until Sony makes a move first. We can expect 6.20 TN-A soon and 6.31 TN-A whenever Sony follows up with a new firmware version. Straight from Total_Noob's blog:

I'll release HEN for 6.20. When Sony releases a new firmware (but I don't think so, because they don't care about the PSP anymore), I'll port it to 6.31 (idea by Flyer).

@Cheesetheif and watcher: First of all people who had updated past 6.20 had no hope of hacking their psp at all before this.

So at least now those who are updated past 6.20 and are smart won't update when a new update is made to try and patch the 6.20 TN-A exploit.

And lets say he released 6.31 TN-A like right now. By tomorrow or the next day sony would patch the exploit with a new update. And then all the people who are on 6.31 and didn't find out about 6.31 TN-A before updating their OFW (and they would update their OFW because remember before this news 6.31 users had zero percent chance of CFW anyway)would really be screwed because the 6.31 TN-A exploit be guaranteed not to work past 6.31.

But if they wait maybe just maybe 6.31 TN-A could be ported to whatever update sony comes out with next so the people who will "missed out" by updating past 6.31 will still have a chance and they will know better than to update thier OFW again.

What about the psp2.If PSP2 is going to hit the markets early next year,Sony wouldnt waste much time on the current model of PSP.Its dead,so to speak.Though game manufacturers may make a couple of more games,but i doubt if we will have any really good ones.
They will be more focused on trying to prevent psp2 hacks. That makes more sense.
Also if they really respect the consumer for paying for the hardware,they should "DIGITALLY" sign home brew games that can be distributed for free over the internet.
Only a total of 100 or so homebrews are released every year.
So they can check them,and then release them.Im sure it will make many pirates consider buying 1 game and getting 5 homebrews rather than pirating everything!

There is no strategy here. He will not be able to find any sort of hole in a firmware because he waited for sony to patch this exploit. If Sony patches the exploit, it will make finding another exploit harder

The reason why he is waiting for Sony's move is because he is trying to see if Sony is aware of the exploit that he has (VSH). There's no reson to release both exploits as Sony wil then patch both exploits in one firmware (OFW). By waiting for Sony's move, he hopes that Sony will not be able to patch and find the VSH exploit therefore having an active exploit for future OFW. As you may know he has the VSH exploit too. That's what I think.

Porting will be not possible if Sony finds a way to block HBL (patching all the games they know have a "hole" in them).

When you release something before a patch, more PEOPLE HAVE THE CHANCE TO GRAB IT AND USE IT. They will know not to update.
However, if it is released after an update, then average Joe might miss out since he saw the update come out first.

Actually, the "stragety" that he is talking about, is gambling IF Sony already knows of the exploit or not. If not, and nothing gets patched, we can have the NEWEST firmware. Regardless if Sony patches the exploit or not, he can release and port the VSH and GOLF exploit to 6.31. For now, he's keeping it just to see if Sony can figure out the VSH vulnerability. If not, then he can still use it for the people that will buy new pspgos or for the people who are either stupid or accidentally updated to the new firmware 6.32.. Downside is you would have to pay for the GOLF game if Sony won't see the exploit, as obviously, he will not release it . Bottomline is, wait or buy the game if you want homebrews. I'll wait till the ISO loader is available.

I patched my firmware (6.20 to 6.31) to be able to play Dissidia with a friend.
He was really SHIT, and I owned his ass, which made me feel great till I noticed HBL didn't work.

If Sony were half as smart and shiny as they pretend to be, they'd leave CFW alone, and they'd play Dead or Alive: Paradise.

I believe he wants to first release the HEN for 6.20, then when Sony (eventually) makes a new firmware, he'll release the HEN for 6.31 with the VSH exploit, then he (or another dev) could develop/port the HEN for the next firmware using the same VSH exploit, only thing left is finding another Kernel Exploit.

Yes, he could just release the HEN for 6.31 now using the VSH exploit, but that would mean wasting perfectly good exploit that could have been used on the later firmware. And he could release it for the Golf exploit, but then people on 6.20 (And some 6.30/1 owners) would have to buy the game.

I think these kind of things should be kept secret.. All this discussion on the subject eventually reach Sony and may urge them to not release a new firmware.

In any case, this is TN's HEN, he does whatever he wants with it, dridri also has an ISO loader thats ready to be tested on TN's HEN, once its released.

All I pretty much want is the ability to launch homebrew from the XMB and utilise plugins (audio boost, remotejoy [I make Youtube videos] and cwcheat [Getting converted PS1 saves to work on PSP])
