PSX/PSOne Fix for Custom Firmware 5.00 M33

Go to your recovery, advanced i think, click on flash0 and plug in a usb cable. the go to flash0:/kd (make sure you have hidden folders enabled) on your computer and add it there.

dont no why but psone games work for me on this fw with outthis prx

trying... TRYING to turn the prx into an activatable prx like cwcheat doesnt work i may be looking like a nub right now, but still some other ppl will find this.. helpful, but still a hinderance.

It still has one, it's just hidden, and hidden so that windows won't show it in explorer. (Try creating a folder named kd and see what happens). Also trying to work through this right now. I'll update as it goes.

Its under in your propety settings or folder stettings .. "Hide protected Operating System Filess" ..uncheck that and it will show up .. I used XPLORA ..by the way.

Still none of my PSX games work. I flashed it but no dice. The thing just keeps crashing whenever I try to start one. All other homebrew works just fine. I'm using a PSP phat and I installed the 5.0 update as well as the 1.50 kernel. Nothing else.

The PSX games worked just fine under FW 4.01 M33. Before I start messing with my system again, and figure out how to use pandora or some other way to revert, does anyone have any other ideas on what I could try? :-(

it's true still a lot of games don't work on 5.00m33 how could I try with?any ideas?

ntsc version of grandia doesnt work but pal version does. Really strange even with the fix.

Since people seem to be confused...

Doesn't really seem to need step 2 at all.

On your PSP, press [Select] it should bring up the M33 VSH MENU. Change USB DEVICE to: Flash 0, and exit.

Then go to [Settings] > [USB Connection]
and connect to it with your computer.

(You'll want to go to the new "Removeable Drive" that showed up for this next step)

If you don't see the "kd" folder, then you have system files hidden. You'll need to go to Tools > Folder Options >>> View, and check Show hidden files and folders, and uncheck Hide protected operating system files. Hit apply and ok.

You should now see your kd folder. Put the popcorn.prx file you downloaded into this folder (You can feel free to save the old file onto your hard drive somewhere first if you wish, backups are always a good idea.)

That's it, disconnect the USB, and try your PS1 games.

I got Vagrant Story running just fine on mine with this method.

Also make sure to un-check "Hide protected operating system files." If that's checked, the folder will remain hidden even if you have the "Show hidden files" option selected.

Tried on this popcorn.prx and Macross VF-X 2 doesn't seems to load at all after the PlayStation logo screen..
Just blank..

I haven't installed the new popcorn.prx yet, but I have tried to play Oddworld - Abe's Exoddus, and once I got to a certain point in the game, the map won't load anything if I try to leave the map or if I die. I'm not sure if it's the prx not being replaced yet or the eboot. But Oddworld - Abe's Oddysee worked fine. (I think it's the PAL version though) :]

I just hard-modded my battery to be pandora and put CFW on like 5 PSP's so I think I will tryo to falsh it back 3.71 M33-2 and update to 4.01 M33 and see if it works in that CFW because I didn't try any of those games in 4.01 before I updated to 5.00.

I have been reading the forums on 5.00m33 pops and found something interesting.
I can load Intelligent Qube and it runs fine, and IQ doesnt use cdda audio.On the forums, other have had the same results with other games not using cdda audio.
Can anyone explain to me why cdda audio games dont boot and others do?
I sure want to understand.
