PSPdisp v0.6 Released

Submitted by greg; February 14, 2011

Transforming your PSP into a secondary (or tertiary, or quaternary...) display for your Windows PC! That's what JJS' homebrew -- PSPdisp -- is all about. Everything is included in one easy-to-use installer ... even the source code. The most notable feature in version 0.6 is the added ability to start multiple instances of PSPdisp; the more PSPs at your disposal means more displays for your mission control center.
PSPdisp v0.6 CHANGELOG
  • settings can be saved in "presets"
  • multiple instances of PSPdisp can be started to connect more than one PSP in WLAN mode
  • support for Wake-On-Lan
  • WLAN LED can be switched off
HEN 6.35 PRO Note
Due to a bug in the HEN it is necessary to remove or rename the file "kernel.prx" in the PSPdisp folder. Otherwise you won't be able to navigate the menu.

I think I'll go back to the old version, this one is acting weird: When I try to change the quality to something else, such as if I were trying to set it to the Lowest quality to reduce lag, it'd set itself back to the setting it was set on before I tried to change it, the highest setting. It also does this with other settings, and the mouse moves way slower anyways, so yeah, like I said, going back to the old version I had since HBL: Better in my opinion...

I have a psp 3000 5.03 GEN-A (yes, I said "A" =P) and I've never tried irshell but I've heard a LOT that it beats PSPdisp and Remotejoylite put toghether. I wonder if some day everybody will be able to run irshell in newer psp's like old psp's can =S

FYI, I'm running PSPdisp v0.5 on my Linux machine through Wine, and it works- mostly. It doesn't work as a separate display, only as a duplicate of whatever is on your monitor.

I just tried it on my PSP 3004 6.20 TN HEN-C and Windows 7 x64, and I love it. I added it to the startup and removed the actual monitor display cable..Its cooool that now I can use the PSP as a primary display if my old PC monitor fails :D

this doesn't act as a second monitor..it just displays whatever you have on the monitor.

It is still going to be a bit buggy but my problem is that it lags using sound to watch a video streaming wifi tried to tweak it but it only helped a small bit I also had to change my ip settings it was set to 192.168.0.1 and what was the chances of it being mine so I changed it to what it needed to be and wala. either usb or wifi is a nice treat.

It does work as a second monitor, u have to set it up properly, that is enabling the PSPdisp driver (not just your video card driver), though. After doing that u can drag whatever program windows to your PSP "monitor"*
*(sry I just formatted my pc and I haven't installed it again to check what exactly is, but I guess u can figure it out from here)

I'd love to see this working on a Mac!

Is this open source and is it portable?

Oh cool. I was hoping he'd release another one of these. :-) I like this on my laptop so I'm not confined to having a cable running around to some monitor somewhere. Will try this one out right away.

EDIT: You should've probly noted somewhere that'll it'll black your screen a few times during installation. ;-) Heh. I had forgot about that.
