PSP Pandora Deluxe Updated to v1.3

Submitted by greg; September 05, 2008

Hack (or recover) your hand-held real good and proper like with DJB's updated version of PSP Pandora Deluxe; dubbed PPD for short. I once described PPD so wonderfully; I'll just reiterate that --
Conveniently handle all your Pandora needs with DJBs all-in-one solution... PSP Pandora Deluxe prepares your -- preferably second or extra -- memory stick to be used with a Pandora Battery. This program will not convert your battery; however, it does include the necessary support tools to do just that.

PSP Pandora Deluxe v1.3 changes:
  • Fixed the Installer (wasn't installing to specified path).
  • Added Windows 98SE/ME/2000/2003 Support.
  • Added an option to use MSPFormat to format the stick.
  • Added an option to inject the Time Machine IPL Loader.
  • Added more XMB Support Tools:

"PSP Pandora Deluxe prepares your — preferably second or extra — memory stick to be used with a Pandora Battery"

I thought "Pandora Battery" was the combination of both a MMS and a Jigkick Battery...

jigkick battery, service battery, pandora battery -- all the same, as far as I'm concerned. you just need a properly prepared memory stick to work with the battery.

Aye, as Greg says. This application just puts everything onto the Memory stick for you (otherwise you'd do it maually) so all you need to do is run the homebrew which does that (I haven't used the app so I don't know which app it is).

After you've done that, your Battery should be Pandoraized. Then to test it, take the battery out, put it back in. IF your PSP Power battery just stays Green - You've got a Pandora Battery, so take the Battery back out, hold the L button, then put the battery in.

Hopefully if you've installed everything correctly you now have the Menu to flash your PSP to get Custom Firmware on it - If not, take the battery out, Plug in the AC Cable, run the Pandora App again, and change your battery back to Normal. And redo everything again, making sure EVERYTHING is properly installed :)

Hope it helps - Doubt it though :D x

@al85: yes, but you'll need to rip a pin off the battery, and either weld it back on or buy a new one, I was smart enough to keep my pandora, @everyone: I can't help but wonder..why didn't all of you guys just pay 24 dallars for a new battery instead of welding it back together, if you keep the battery, you don't have to worry about bricking, because you have a universal unbricker, for anyone whos thinking about doing this...just buy another battery....its really worth it, I bricked my PSP 20 times already

duh yes works for both, but don't put the slim on 150 or it will brake the slim motherboard, because the slim WAS NOT MADE for 150. Unless you did something to the silm's motherboard then yes.

I have already made the battery using my fat psp, may be a stupid question but what u seem to be suggesting is that i would have to modify this battery further to get it to work in a slim, is that right? Thanks for the help so far.

Actually, you can use Time Machine to make the Slim have a 1.50 Kernel - But it's a bit harder than the average stuff like.

I have a question - I made a pandora battery a while ago, using UPMS Installer V3 and a second battery I bought, all went well and am running custom firmware 3.90 now.

I tucked the battery away in a drawer, in case I ever need to unbrick my PSP.

Can I get away with just creating a new memory stick with this app, for use with my original pandora battery?

Nope. A fat service battery will work on both. So to use your battery on a slim won't have any issues.

Mate, you NEED to have an already Hacked PSP which means it will have to have Custom Firmware (CFW) on it already - Or 1.50 Official Firmware (OFW).

If your PSP has just been purchased with 4.01 OFW it's more than likely that it'll have the TA-088 Motherboard, which renders the Despertar del Cementerio (DC), Pandora, and Time Machine useless for the time being.

Either way, you'll have to get a Hacked PSP already in which you can create the Pandora Battery - Unless you want to Hardmod the battery.. Which to be honest if you don't know what you're doing, DO NOT DO IT.

you dont need to modify further. once your battery is made thats it. it will work on all slims except the very latest motherboards.

cutting th pins is another method to make the battery if you dont have a homebrew psp to strt with.

if you already have homebrew running you simply run the pandora tools to modify the battery eprom instead.
