PSP Firmware 6.60 Downgrader Released

So since the PSP is hacked to shit -- and Sony isn't suing anyone who targets it -- developer some1 has released PSP Downgrader v4. And in addition to 6.60 support you can now downgrade to any official firmware, but -- more on that after this... This downgrader, originally developed by Davee for 6.31 and 6.35, which some1 ported to later firmwares -- 6.38, 6.39, and 6.60 -- now lets you downgrade your PSP not only to 6.20, but any official firmware (OFW) you so desire. Although with that, comes this: You can only downgrade to a firmware greater than or equal to the factory installed OFW when your PSP was purchased; this downgrade has not been fully tested with all the different PSP models and OFWs; I wouldn't try anything silly, like jumping way back to firmware 1.50; we are not responsible if you damage or brick your PSP. The firmware 6.60 downgrade is made possible by a (new?) kernel exploit discovered by Davee; that was then passed down to Zecoxao, who later made said exploit available to some1. [How do I use it?]

Copy the “PSP” folder to your PSP. The downgrader is
“signed” and can be launched from OFW XMB. You need to copy the (Example: OFW 6.20/6.35/6.38/6.39)
update to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP and for PSPgo it must be the eflash
it is placed on. After setup run the downgrader and follow the onscreen
instructions. Hope this can help you guys to solve the problem.

If this hasn't already been made clear, as I figured out, drop the files in the download archive onto the PSP folder as usual; THEN, go into the PSP/GAME folder and ADD a new folder named UPDATE, with the eboot.PBP file from the 6.20 Firmware.

In PSP/GAME there should be a "6.xx Downgrader v4" folder AND an "UPDATE" folder, both with their own "eboot.PBP" file

Yes; I dragged the PSP folder from the archive that I downloaded and allowed it to replace the PSP folder on my memory stick, as prompted.

Then I went and downloaded the eboot file for the 6.20 Firmware update.

The eboot file that came with the archive stays in the folder "6.xx Downgrader v4", while the new eboot file, for 6.20, is placed in a new folder named "UPDATE".

for the people who want to know what ofw your psp came with when it was first bought, download psp everest. it tells you alot of psp info including passwords,recco mended custom firmware,etc.

If you can go to Recovery menu, switch the USB mode to where ever you put the gameboot and remove it and it should work...

Im using a psp-3000, i dont think neuron's CFW will wrk on it, i jumped back and forth trying all CFWs PRO and TN, the problem is getting ISOs to run it on them, not all of them run even though patched using ISO Tool, i know that 5.03gen works just as good as 5.00m33-6 coz i own a PSP Phat as well with 5.00m33 installed on it, the psp-3000 and Go is just a pain to work with, one wrong move then its over

Well, neur0n's can use the Prometheus loader natively. There are instructions, but you just throw some files into seplugins. That's what I use, and I've never had a problem, no patching required.

you know now that you mentioned it, i havent really tried neurons CFWs, i just never took note of the light edition, at some point i thought he's CFW only works on 1000 and 2000 models coz the non-light versions i keep seeing. I'll give it try, thanx tehsusenoh

Hello I have fucking Sony 6.60 firmware and it sucks so much.So i used this one and i followed the instruction to make a folber named "6.xx Downgrader v4.1" in the PSP/Game/ folder.IT succesfully start and it leads me to the menu where it says:
"Press X to start SCE updater".Press R to exit".

i press X and then the screen get black and error saying "the game could not be started 80020148". and the downgrade fails.
CAN PLEASE ANYONE HELP ME I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RUN YU GI OH TAG FORCE 5 SINCE AGES AND I FEEL TERRIBLE..I AM GONNA GIVE UP AND KILL MYSELF PLEASE HELP ME.

sometimes the downgrader ends up crashing or hangs before the updater loads on lower firmware, what i did was update to 6.35, then downgraded my firmware, i went back to OFW 5.00, then updated to 5.03, run ChickHEN/MHUspeed, then installed GEN-A and then GEN-C, poof!! blast back into the past!

But i thought that would brick ur psp, well on a 3000 any way, cuz the lowest factory installed FW is 4.70 but most are like 6.10, well urs must be like one of the erlist versions of the 3000.

Works GREAT!!!! You have to put a UPGRADE folder with the DOWNGRADE folder. And in the UPGRADE floder you have to put the firmware file that you want to downgrade to. You'll have to fine the version you want online. Example I have firmware 6.6 and want to downgrade to 5.3, so i put my 5.3 version file into my upgrade folder.

If it is PSP go make sure you place the files in the internal Memory and not the memory stick. That resolved it for me
