PSP Custom Firmware 6.60 ME v1 Released

For the original PSP owners -- PSP-1000 (01g) and PSP-2000 (02g) -- we present to you neur0n's PSP Custom Firmware 6.60 ME v1. As usual you'll want a Pandora-battery on standby incase something goes awry; however, being neur0n, that is unlikely. neur0n has also patched a couple useful plugins for 6.60 ME: Audio Boost, which is self-explanatory; and PspStates, which saves any game, anywhere, at any time, in its exact state, letting you later resume that game whenever you see fit. When will you guys get this. The only reason that the 1g and 2g (non t88v3) can accept a full CFW is because of the ability for a custom IPL. The 3000 and Go models have no had the IPL decrypted and re-written yet, so there is no chance of a custom IPL. The only reason 6.20 had a permanent patch is because there as a loophole found that was patched in newer FW versions.

I wanted to start getting my PSP back up to par with CFW in preparation for FF Type-0. I can't even find the power cord for my PSP1000 so I can't power it up at the moment but I do remember that I was on whatever the last M33 CFW was. Being so far behind in the scene, what would I have to do to update to this CFW? Is there a tutorial somewhere or youtube video I could watch? Thanks in advance for any info provided.

EDIT: Nevermind. Should have read the readme file first. Seems like I should be fine.

There isn't any 6.60 CFW for PSP-3000s as of now so you will have to wait until one is released.

Actually,now you can play ISO games on PSP 3000 on 6.60 now.A halfbyte loader has been released,it is on pspslimhacks.com.Run the halfbyte loader and with that you can run prometheus iso loader and can play ISO games.I did that with my psp 3004 and it worked,all the best

i can be happy i got a psp 1k, and sony failed damn hard this time, they released and patched cfw and 1 day later, neuron makes an beta, after that more betas, and then a full cfw, i think sony would better hire some garage devs for their next firmware or they'll get owned again in 1 day...

--How to Install--
First, you need to install CFW or HEN in your PSP.

1. copy UPDATE folder at ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
2. Put 6.60 official update at ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/660.PBP, or let the program download it for you can use a wifi connection.
3. Run installer from xmb.

i have psp 1001. i updated to 6.60 forgeting i cant play my games now lol ive tryed to install this but i get "the game could not be started. (80020148). any ideas on why, i had 6.39 CFW installed before update to 6.60

Google around and they tell you how. 1000s and 2000s are fine as long as you have a Pandora battery you can do no harm.....well almost there is always pulling the battery or unplugging it while it's writing to the flash lol

This CFW only works for PSP 1000s and 2000s (pandorable).

I should warn all of you guys that from the rar I downloaded from here, the readme at step 2 says "Put 6.60 official update at ms0:/PSP/GAME/660.PBP" when it should say to put it at "ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/660.PBP" Just some heads up, hope staff will fix it.

No, this only works on PSP 1000 and non-v3 2000. Will not work on 3000. No LCFW for 6.60 yet, but hopefully it is coming :)

pdated to 6.60 me v1 from 6.20b5. with my psp2000
no problem during installing , but after installing,
HUGE PROBLEM : 'I CANT ACCESS USB MODE AND EVERYTHING RELATED TO SETTINGS!' everytime i try to access settings or usb mode, my psp would freeze and shut down immediatel y...i had to access usb mode from the recovery menu....pls fix these neuron! thx! luv you!

Okay, ran into a problem, hopefully someone can help:

- 5.50 GEN-D3 here
- copied UPDATE folder at ms0:/PSP/GAME/
- downloaded 6.60 OFW
- since it was EBOOT.PBP, i had to rename it to 660.pbp
- Put 6.60 official update at ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/660.PBP,
(so, I have eboot.pbp and 660.PBP side by side)
- started the update at XMB, "no need...your version is 9.90" etc
- so, I went into flash0, found the version.txt, changed it to 5.50
- OK
- started the sony update, finished it, restarted

NOW the problem
- "Unsupported firmware version dectected (sic) Proceed at your own risk!"
- pressed X
- "Failed to find nid sceDisplay_Serv ice"
- then it boots on my iRShell and basically stuck there

I hope you guys can figure out the fix here! More power~

Also, I can access the 6.60 Recovery Menu by holding down L+R after restarting from iRShell

Tried the feature of booting into OFW by holding Home, nothing happens.

6.20 pro is perm. I know because I JUST flashed it. And I'm coming from 5.50pro that I had since it came out, so don't worry :)

If you can't update directly to 6.20 like me, update to 6.60 then downgrade to 6.20 using the psp downgrader program.

If anyone else was wondering how you access version.txt in fash0 it's fairly simple.

-Boot into recovery
-Under advanced toggle flash0
-Version.txt is located at F:\vsh\etc (Change F: to whatever your memory stick is mounted as)
-Change 9.90 to 5.50 and save
-toggle flash0 again to unmount and exit recovery.
-Update should now work.

Should be noted that I had "use version.txt" disabled in the firmware options and it wouldn't work until I edited the file.

Everything went smooth for me upgrading from 5.50 Gen-D2.

i am sooo tired of wading through forum after forum looking for a way to play my psn purchased version of FF7 and other games (eboot.pbp). no where does it tell me how o do this with ANY of the firmwares. can someone please help me.

now that i am done whining like everyone else i'll give you some background info. I had a psp 3000 that i used legit. i bought games from PSN and i have umd's. unfortunately i cracked the screen. when i went to buy a new one from the local pawn shop i found a hackable psp 1000.

I brought it home and put m33 whatever on it and somehow bricked the battery somehow using hellcat's recovery flasher(i think i clicked something about making a pandora battery???). anyhow i pulled the battery and it still works but will not boot with the battery in it. i am ordering a pandora battery now, but in the meantime i have updated the fw to 5.50 GEN-D3 via hellcat's recovery flasher. i have managed to download a few iso's and am happy with that but i would also like to play on my purchased games, but everytime(and everyway) i try to run the .pbp i get either corrupted data or game cannot be started. If anyone could please email me at liegelord@gmail .com with a solution i would greatly appreciate it.
