PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-A Released

Liquidzigong, also known as Virtuous Flame (did you know that?), has released a new custom firmware for PSP 6.35 -- PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-A! This differs from neur0n's as it is compatible with more PSP models, including the PSPgo. The PSP-3000 isn't mentioned in readme.txt so I'm not 100% on that ... but it does say all. 6.35 PRO-A Features (readme.txt translated via Google)

Support all types of PSP, which PSP-1000, PSP-2000, PSP-GO is strictly tested
Support the unlock 52MB of memory, has reached the level of the times 5xx
The NP9660 has a built-in and March33 ISO driver to support more games
XMB ISO has indicated support for ISO & CSO
Has nodrm engine, support for direct reading of the DLC and the decrypted EDATA / PGD file
With VSH MENU, you can view or change system settings, etc.
Redesigned NID Resolver, support more home-made software, including CMFr21c
Has a variety of patches, such as brightness and video resolution four other patches
Support version.txt, put it in ms0: / seplugins / version.txt to take effect

Installation

FW < 6.35 users: upgrade to 6.35 using Sony's official update (PSP-X000 | PSPgo)
FW = 6.36 users: use 6.36 PRO + version.txt to downgrade to 6.35 (someone care to shed some light on this?)
Use 6.35 PRO (HEN) to load the "6.35PRO-A Updater" -- press the X button to start the installation.
You can revert back to OFW 6.35 by running 635PRO-A Fast Recovery."

Note: 6.35 PRO-A downgrade to 6.20 is not supported, if necessary, downgrade using Davee's 6.35 Downgrader. Future Plans for 6.35 PRO-B

PS1 games will support the self-made
Will support Recovery Menu

If you upgrade to 6.35 There is a 6.35 Downgrader to bring you back to 6.20 TN HEN. This works on ALL PSP Motherboards even the PSPGo will downgrade from 6.35 to 6.20.

If you have a PSP 3k/2k/1k You can then Downgrade from 6.20 TN-B to 5.03 OFW spoofing index.dat

6.35 HEN will most likely be more developed towards because it's newer, the speed increase in 6.35 is worth the switch (5.03 loads the XMB slow). I would do the upgrade - but if you're finding a lot of game problems then downgrade back to 5.03

Isn't the keys used to sign programs for the psp the same keys that Sony uses to sign their firmware? That is what I thought when they came out but with people still saying it is impossible to put a permanent CFW on the newer it looks like it is a different key.

PS. Since this isn't permament you should remove that thing about a recovery to OFW since it is a useless feature and just tricks people into thinking that it is permament.

I think I will wait and see how this develops I use 6.35 PRO HEN SIGNED on the PSPgo with ISO TOOL and as it is I'm fine with it I like the fact that PRO-A doesn't have that black screen that say Loading Driver and I also like that it now has a version.txt and a vsh menu but based on some things Ive read so far I'm going to play the waiting game on this one and wait for a more stable release.

The keys allow programs with user mode access to run, but custom firmware has kernel access. And then there is the pre-ipl thing. No one ever hacked the new one.

my psp came with firmware 6.10.

Tested this on my PSP-3001, worked perfectly. Had a problem in the beginning 'cause HEN kept turning off my PSP once initialised. I fixed this by removing the UMD and USB cable. Other than that, I've had no problem and it works great. Thanks!

Heres the thing, it says custom firmware. When I first read this I thought permanant too. If you don't keep track of what the hackers are doing constantly you can't know or not if a post that says "PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-A" is LCFW or actually full custom firmware. Its very possible that one of these days the hackers will be able to run a full CFW on a 3000.

If you want to play VP:L as much as I did, just downgrade to 6.20 TN-C and then use the ISOtool to patch the iso, make an XMB icon and it'll work.

It's easy as hell and there's virtually no risk of bricking unless you like take out the battery while doing the downgrade update.

Besides, Total_Noob's HEN has much better support and compatibility with a shitload of plugins and it's much better. I only used 6.35 PRO before the downgrader came out.
You can play almost if not every game on 6.20 TN-C by patching the iso via takka's iso tool. Even Burnout Legends.

USE THIS CFW IN THREE CASES:
1)YOU HAVE A PSP GO (YOU WILL KNOW WHY IF YOU READ #2)

Well, it works on my PSP 3000 08g, but theres really no point... it just hides the mac address and adds a vsh, most isos dont work, and it broke my UMD drive -.- apparently i have to downgrade to 6.20 and back up to 6.35 to get the UMD drive to work again, but downgrader doesnt work on 08g/09g. Don't install it, just stick with 6.35 PRO HEN.

This CFW works fine in PSP 3006. Run 6.35 Pro HEN, and then run this CFW.I don't need ISO Tools 1.960 to create XMB icons for my ISOs. But still, this is not permanent. It's OK since I don't want to modify as of now my firmware unless we have the final stable version of this CFW. Thanks a lot. One problem I encountered is that I can't still play Ace Combat X2 Joint Assault ISO, I'm still wondering why. Hope anybody can help me. Thanks!

from what i read this supports old plugins, what version of game categories did you try, if you tried the one for 6.20 hen and it didnt work try the old plugin for m33 and gen firmwares and it might work, try everything man the chance of brick is nil.
trial and error always wins.

Well, I was on 5.03 before I updated, so I was using the "old" version of Categories which would crash my PSP when I booted into PRO-A. I switched to the "new" light version last night for 6.20 and it also does not work. It doesn't freeze, but it doesn't allow me to sort by category either.

I'm not really worried about a brick either ;) I've done some things with my 3000 that normal people wouldn't dare trying.

My GAME plugins work fine though. Guess I'll move the games/apps I use most into the /GAME/ folder for now.

You also need to download recovery 6.35 after you install 6.35pro-A then after you can get rid of it and just keep the recovery 6.35 then it will work faster

ISO Launcher on the XMB surprised me, until the ISO's crashed. Not to mention this is the process EACH TIME MY PSP crashes

yea i justr tried both also v12 just crashes when i use the fast recovery to get back, and light version loads fine but my folders dont show up, that was the first plugin i tried so far since moving to this cfw, i only use 2 or 3 main plugins and this was one, so if i get one more plugin that doesn't work i might have to go back to hen-c. gotta give these guys credit tho they are trying and no doubt 6.35 pro-b will fix all these issues.
what it basicly comes down to for me now tho is who is going to release the first stable pops support, and lets face it tn already showed us a vid of hen-d working with pops. either way theres no risk in trying and we can always go back unless ya got one of those crazy 3000s that the downgrader dont work

I have that same problem. I have a PSP 3000 (instead of his PSP 2K) that I HAD 6.35 PRO on; worked absolutely perfectly. Then, I go ahead and install 6.35 PRO-A. Installation was successful, but UMD games WOULD NOT load. I went back to OFW 6.35 by shutting down the PSP completely, but still no UMD game loading. Tried downgrading, but somehow it's not working; what am I doing wrong?

I too have the same problem. Had 6.35PRO,on my pspGO. My isos that I downloaded run,but my umd/digital download games that were purchased on psn are not working at all. When you start them up,your taken back to the psp menu and it says "game could not be started" wtf. Can anyone help with this?

The Pre IPL patch is most likely a hardware (physical) change, so running a permanent CFW on a 2000(Slim) with TA-088v3 Motherboard/3000(Brite)/N-1000(go) and up would be impossible.

Ok, I've been out of the PSP scene since the M33 CFW days... Yes, I've read through some of the faq's on getting current... but was wondering what the benefits/pitfalls there are in going with this particular CFW on my PSP1000 or PSP2000. If I mess around with this (following the instructions of course), could I go back to what I used to have if I wanted to using my magic memory stick and pandora battery, or has all that changed too...

@ezelo, its not really fair to list the best and order them in any kind of order, they are all great in there own way and they all work for different ppl who own different psps, i agree to a point and see how you came up with the list however other ppl may have different opinions based on what they are looking for not trying to be flaming or anything but the best refers to fact and the the only fact is it depends on what you need in a firmware and what firmware is available to you to use, to out of respect to the developers and the users maybe we should just list the facts about whats good about each and let the end user decide whats best for them rather then say one is definitively better then another

Works great on PSP 3001, install PROHEN first, then PROA follow the easy instructions or just press X it will install PRX´s an reboot to ¨custom firmware¨ which will let you load from XMB every iso or cso I have tested is working great, if you reset the PSP it will lose the PROA even PROHEN just load everything back and still works, it´s better than the other options available and more compatible.

I also tried to use the iso and make an xmb icon using iso tools, i also tried iso loader like prome, then this PRO A cfw but ACE still not working, i also tried to convert it to cso, but the same thing happened. I tried to download 2 different torrent file for it but they are the same. is it the firmware the issue here. according to the torrent info, it works for gend3 i guess.

From what I've read, "Fast Recovery" is a signed eboot that will reboot your PSP into PRO-A after it's been installed. Removing the need to re-run HEN and the installer every single time... I may be wrong because I haven't had to reboot yet (yay, no crashes!).

guys, if you guys are seeing corrupted files, im guessing its cos the games is in CSO format. I converted the CSO to ISO and it shows up normal on XMB.

Also, download 6.35 PRO-A fast recovery from different site (this site doesnt have it). Because after installing Pro-A, and turn off your PSP, you only need to open fast recovery to have PRO-A again.

Hey guys, dont install this with an UMD inserted. The UMD inserted on drive will not work again. It happened to my original UMD fifa 11. But I fixed just pressing triangle on UMD and finding a oficial upgrade. Remember, it will upgrade only the fifa 11 game, not the firmware. I tested myself, and the UMD is working again.

i can confirm that this works perfect on 3000(i have 3004 and i have used this pro-a) but i would recomend you to switch to pro-A1 as pro-A1 is far better than pro-a.earlier my fifa street 2 iso woldn't show in the xmb with pro-A but it does show now with pro-A1.
