PSP 6.3X Downgrader Released Updated

Not happy with firmware 6.38? Want to use 6.20 TN? Now you can! Pop the 6.20 EBOOT.PBP in ms0/ef0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE, download this downgrader and execute. This is a port of Davee's 6.35/6.31 Downgrader, released by some1. It is signed so everything's gravy, baby. The source code is said to be released come May 29th. Technical details

It uses the utility/power exploit to gain kernel access and reboots into the updater with a special PRX running. This PRX uses the pspdecrypt functionality to decrypt the updater PRX when needed. This allows the updater to boot in the newer firmwares.

This downgrade has been tested on PSP-1000, 2000, 3000, and go models; ~~07g and 09g are not currently supported. That may change in the near future.~~ Not sure what model you have? Try PSPident. Update: some1 just added 07g/09g support. So if you have one of those (07g or 09g) you need to place the 6.35 update in PSP/GAME/UPDATE, which I guess implies you're downgrading to 6.35 and cannot go any lower. Use the 6.20 update if you're sporting hardware older than 07g. And you can still downgrade from 6.31 or 6.35, just like Davee's. Update: some1 has released v3, adding support for firmware 6.39. I tried it and this thing works! So if you have PSP 3000 or PSP Go that is stuck in 6.37(just upgrade to 6.38) and 6.38, this is what you are waiting for.

JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU PRESS the 'O' button when you see the 'blue' screen after the restart...do not panic since it will restart the PSP again to factory settings.

as simple as possible ....just downgraded my psp 2004 piano black

i was on 6.37 so i updated to 6.38

then rolled back to the 6.20

any one on lower than 6.37 must update to the 6.38
then use the downgrader with the 6.20 eboot put in the PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder

-make sure your PSP 3000 is at 6.38, if not upgrade to 6.38
-extract the 6.38 downgrader to computer and copy the '638 Downgrader' folder on in the PSP/GAME/ on your stick
-extract the 6.20 update to computer and copy the the folder to PSP/GAME on your stick. MAKE SURE YOU RENAME THE FOLDER TO 'UPDATE' or it will not work
-run the 6.38 downgrader, follow prompts and it should run the 6.20 UPDATE
-follow prompts
-it will restart after updating and then you will get a 'blue screen'...DON'T PANIC, just press the 'O' button
-it will restart. wait for it to come back
-you should be back to 6.2 again and can then run 6.20 CFW

Do you have a PSP Go??
If you do download the OFW for the PSP Go... otherwise it won't work as it is a different OFW from other PSP's

Since this uses a kernel exploit to load the PRX and trick the firmware, it shouldn't take too long for HEN to appear. At least, for 6.38PRO to appear lol.

Use the 6.20 update unless you are 100% positive you have a 3000-7g/9g. It will put you to 6.20 if possible, if not it will just give you a md5 error & exit. Just replace the 6.20 update with the 6.35 and it will downgrade you to 6.35. The downgrader won't downgrade you to 6.35 unless you have a 3000 with a 7g/9g module. This is pretty cool considering all the trouble finding out your module on 6.38/6.37 OFW.

There is no signed version of PSPident. Just try to downgrade to 6.20, it won't do it if it has the wrong module. Then downgrade with 6.35 & your good to go.

Not on a 9g, because your mobo can't run firmware before 6.30, it would brick. This downgrader will refuse to do it. 6.35 is the best you'll get with a 7g/9g mobo.

There already is a 6.38 CFW, but it is only for fully hackable PSP's. These CFW for unhackable PSP's are still "temporary" and not full. The permanent patch exploits a loophole in flash0 to make it permanent, while a full CFW just overwrites flash0 (this is what bricks unhackable PSP's).

It refers to the module revision of motherboard. 1000=1g, 2000=2g, 3000=3g/4g, Go=5g, & newer 3000's=7g/9g. 3000's with a 7g/9g module can't run below 6.30, so downgrading to 6.35 so you can run ProB is the best choice for these 3000's.

If your go is 5g it will use the 6.20 update, if the 6.20 update returns "failed crc" then throw the 6.35 update in there and it will update on your newer go. The downgrader checks version vs update and won't let you apply the wrong one.

Well i have downloaded the v3.1 my psp is slim 2000 2g, the psp version is 6.35 firmware PRO-B5 and i have dowloaded the EBOOT of version 6.20 i have transfer it to the folder UPDATE and i have transfered it to the PSP and then i have trasfered the PSP folder of the downgrade to my PSP and i see the update of version 6.20 but the downgrade is a corrupted data file, did i trasfer it wrong? help please :S

9g is supported now, but it still won't downgrade to 6.20, because the mobo isn't capable of running that kernal. L~the lowest you can safely downgrade a 3000 is 3g-5.00, 4g-6.00, 7g/9g-6.30. Apparently there's a new module that can't go below 6.35 now too, but I don't know for sure about that.

You need to open recovery menu & disable the use version.txt option. If that doesn't work you'll have to hook your psp to your computer while in the recovery menu & toggle flash0. The go to vsh/etc/version.txt & replace it with any 5.xx version.txt, then you can update as high as you want. With a 1000 I would suggest 6.38me-3, it's a full cfw with almost full game compatibility.
If your worried about touching flash0. (nothing to worry about changing a version.txt though) You could always use Hellcat's recovery flasher 1.65 to install a fresh 6.20ofw, then go wherever you want from there.

Just because yours is a 5g it doesn't make all PSPgos' a 5g every single PSP is different; if they were all the same the PSP would be much easier to hack and Sony doesn't want their System being hacked, so that's why as a developer you don't want to make your product the same way it should remain different, but if your talking about Software development that differs.

It worked on my PSP Go but I bought it the year that it was first released.
It also worked on my PSP 3000 and it is the Assassins Creed limited edition pack.

As far as compatibility, the downgrader has been updated and works now with newer models.
Again it is a risk but if you have a friend who has one who has a lot of spending money, then
I ask him to do it. If it bricks then you can sell it for parts.

With a 2000, if you don't have a 88v3 motherboard, you can use hellcats recovery flasher 1.65 to install a 6.20 ofw pretty easily. Just make sure you don't have a 88v3 mobo with pspident first.

can downgrade without using pandora battery in any psp model?

intalling downgrader;

1. make sure its correct update (download files)
2. extract the files (must have UPDATE and
6.3X Downgrader)
3. connect the psp in your pc then place the 2 files you download (open the folder PSP then GAME and paste it)
4. disconnet your psp then run like ordinary games!

note: downgrader must run first!

Use at your own risk. We are not responsible if you brick your PSP (like greg said)!

I downgraded my psp 3001 from OFW 6.37.

1. Download and install OFW 6.38
2. Download the downgrader and OFW 6.20
3. Place the downgrader in the PSP/GAME folder on your psp and place the OFW 6.20 update in PSP/GAME/UPDATE
4. Run the downgrader.
5. Get either 6.20 pro or TN or 6.35 pro
6. Enjoy playing your psp

pspident will work on a OFW, all you have to do is use half byte loader (depend on FW) by wololo from there, you can launch pspident any version

Okay, I think you are asking if you can downgrade a 8g mobo lower than 6.35. First, you need to update your pspident because it's giving you the wrong module number. I believe it's reporting your 9g as a 8g, which I believe is a module checker or pspident bug that has been fixed. Either way this will downgrade you to 6.35 but won't downgrade you lower than that.

The new v3.5 will downgrade 1g-5g to 6.20 & 6.35. Of course 7g/9g can still only be downgraded to 6.35

the site from where u will download it will supply step by step info
after u get back to 6.20
just download 6.20 tn e hen and put it in psp/game folder
then launch it
u will be good to go then

I have PSP3002 with 04g and 6.60 firmware installed. I just new to PSP's so seriously dont understand anything what's here.. can anybody please help me to degrade the firmware to any hackable firmware.. I believe 6.20 should work to run ISO files? but im not sure please advise...

Can anybody please elaborate these instructions in more details?
"Copy the "PSP" folder to your PSP. The downgrader is "signed" and can be launched from OFW XMB.
You need to copy the 6.20 update to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP and for PSPgo it must be the eflash it is placed on. After setup run the downgrader and follow the onscreen instructions."

My question is: there is already an EBOOT.PBP file in this folder (PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP) and 6.20 firmware has the same name and as per the instruction it should be filed in the same folder.. How is this possible? or does that mean the updater should be saved as winzip/winrar file in the same folder?

Thank you so much for this post! Just to give some info I used this on two psps. Both are 3004 4g models, one was running 6.38 OFW and the other was running 6.31 OFW. Now both are on 6.20 PRO-B10 and it is awesome, I like it much better than HEN personally. Thanks again.
