PS3Jig v1.00 Released - PS3 Factory/Service Mode via PSP!

Moments ago on ps3-hacks I posted Brandon W's PS3Jig -- PS3Jig is a homebrew app for the PSP, which emulates Sony's official PS3 "jig" stick. Said stick is used to put the PS3 into Factory/Service mode, and depending on your current firmware version, 3.55 or earlier, you're able to downgrade while in that mode. DO NOT USE "PS3Jig" ON PS3 FIRMWARE 3.56! YOU WILL GET STUCK IN FACTORY/SERVICE MODE INDEFINITELY.

Okay so just to tell you.

1. This Homebrew doesn't work on 6.20 TN-C or 6.35
2. This Homebrew works on older CFW's like 5.00 M33-6, 5.50 GEND3 5.03ChickHEN
3. DO NOT PUT YOUR OFW PS3 3.56 USING THIS!!!! DONT!!!
4. This is only for people who own a PS3 3.55 who want to jailbreak
5. Service mode doesn't mean Recxovery mode on your PSP and does not mean your PSP in anyway - It's for the PS3.

This doesn't hack your PSP, it's just a simple application to help hack the Ps3, to the average PSP user this has no function to you. It's just to save the cost of having to buy a special Dongle for the PS3 (not psp) to hack it.

If you are trying to downgrade your PS3 because you are stuck at 3.56 YOU CAN'T SO DON'T TRY IT. Only 3.55 Firmware on PS3 can use this application. I can't stress this enough.

Also this mainly gets your PS3 service mode, so per say the PSP is the hacking "stick"

Mavrick, the person who programmed this had very little knolewdge at how the PSP works and he was able to make this, the people who said this couldn't work obviously didn't look at the PSP drivier, let alone come close to even reading the PSP driver....

Ander0072, Since it runs on 5.50 GEND3 I think it will run on 5.50 Prom. I'm pretty sure newer firmwares 6.XX don't work, I tried signing the Eboot too but no sucess.

Make sure plugins aren't enabled under GAME.TXT, Turn off your Plugins such as; Remote J, etc/etc.

This Homebrew uses the PSP USB Driver, so disabling plugins in game should hopefully give you a better try.

I tried this on my Slim 2k (88v3) in 5.03 ChickHEN and it ran. I tried this on the same PSP in 6.20 TN-B/TN-C and It wouldn't run what so ever :L

Just try making sure all Game plugins are disabled.

If you have never downgraded a PS3, don't even worry about using this - Unless you go to Google and read on how to downgrade your Ps3 with a jailbreak.

This is just a simple tool that the PSP just so happens to be able to run. Don't try this because it's posted on the front page, if you know what you are doing then do it.

If not, please read anything PS3 related won't be answered very well here.

I posted this on the original post but. My ps3 refuses to boot into factory/service mode. It just takes longer to boot then says unknown usb devise has been connected. Does anyone know why? Mine is a CECHG01 with a upgraded HDD.

I acknowledge the fact that it is a beta but heres my experience so far.

PSP Go 6.20 TN-C

some game lose audio entirely when you resume play after having been in the options menu. didnt seem to happen on FF2, FF3 and Star Ocean

as i was playing Star Ocean, i returned to gameplay after changing settings in options menu and realized all controls excluding the snes controls were disabled on the psp (i.e. volume, brightness, the playstation button, and to top those of, the freaking power switch).

so if you caught that, the psp cant turn off now XD
its idling right now. waiting for it to fall asleep.

TjsMex, Obviously you did something wrong - This application doesn't upgrade your PS3 in anyway,nor does it automatically downgrade your Ps3.

If you bricked your PS3 it's because you didn't read instructions elsewhere, this application doesn't force your Ps3 to downgrade.

This is why you need to READDDDD before doing things, how the fuck do you own a Ps3 without learning how to read first?

Tried this on my PSP 1000 with 5.00 M33-6.
I tried to see if I could get a PS3 with 3.41, that had previously gone to a RSOD, into service and downgrade the firmware since some people apparently have fixed RSODs by downgrading. When I connected it and did the power eject thing the PSP would say it requested the code and than sent one back. I tried this about 20 times but my PS3 never went into Factory service mode. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not but I couldn't get it to work.

There's a special file that you're supposed to grab that pulls the PS3 back out of service mode. Google is your friend.

PS3-Hacks is even more your friend for using this app.

And, no, I haven't tried it. I'm running Geohot's 3.55 JB at the moment anyway.

Hy, I bought this psp 2000 with a pandora battery and custom firmware already on it. But the analoge stick could only move up and down and not left and right (I didnt care because I didnt need it for the games I played :p) For about a month the psp worked fine en this one day he didnt work anymore :s - The green light is always on unless the battery is empty or out the psp. - I cant turn the psp on or of. - I cant see anything on the screen it is just black. - I cant hear anything. Well that are all the details I can think of for now. I hope somebody can help or atleast try to help me.
