Signing - basically makes it so the PS3 thinks the homebrew made is verified/released by Sony there for removing the necessity for CFW (Custom Firmware). Like how when you download programs from PSN (Playstation Store/Network) it is signed by Sony, so the PS3/PSP recognizes it as a "sony" product. (correct me if im wrong)

NO, not the UPDATER ones. Just the ".pkg" (package files) its like the EBOOT.PBP in PSP that contains the EBOOT.BIN etc.

technically, that has isn't proven, look at the other hacked consoles, they are still making games for even the hacked systems. A great example will be the PSP its being hacked for about 3 years and sony still sells cames. hacking systems doesn't profit the company, because they lose profit when piracy is implemented into CFW.

what this will soon mean, is that we wont need cfw or a hen. we will be able to just put the game, app, or whatever in the game folder and it will load, as long as it is signed. this is the crown achievement of all psp hacks.
just wait til they finish the tools, and then the devs can recompile the brew, and blammo, like magic we can update to current ofw and access psn, the best of both worlds

sorry about that: this is for those with coding knowledge, at this point it is not very useful for the average psp owners (like myself). This allows you to decrypt and extract the new pkg files that have appeared in PSP and PS3 disk images on their game. The first game I noticed this to appear on was Crisis Core. By extracting the PKG files you can in theory find the encryption key and with that you can apply it to your Homebrew Eboot to "sign" it and then be able to play it on a non hacked PSP.

I really don't know why this is so hard for some people to understand. Its really simple, we have the encryption keys(how we got them still surprises me as its never happened before to a console, it should be almost impossible) so basically in the end all you have to do is download your homebrew or ISO to your stock PSP and your good to go. And no Sony can't simply patch this, the only way they can patch this is if they change the encryption keys, but if they do all their games prior to the change will stop working. That means every game made will be a coaster, i really don't think Sony will do that. Just look at it this way, you have the master key to all locks, no matter how many times someone changes the lock you will still be able to unlock it. Hope that clears things up for some. On a side note, bright side for Sony they will probably have record sells for the PS3's this year. Down side for us is this will be the end for PSP/PS3 software production. I mean no company in their right mind would invest in a unsecured system. It wont be overnight, but we will see less and less games coming out. Not to bad for PSP as it was at its end, but the PS3 will be hurting. Looks like PS4 will have to be put in high gear.

And yes by using this decrypter you can run all your backup games and sum. pretty easy to use Too. So yes all the above official firmware can play all backup and home brew too

Again, why are these guys wasting everyone's time and giving us tools to decrypt and unsign crap but not sign it. The only thing they really need to do is sign the Prometheus ISO loader and they can stop all of this foolishness. We're waiting.... Anyone knows what program I need in order to open this decrypter, im running on Windows7 and it keeps saying "Windows can't open this file" and I searched everywhere for a program to open the ".SLN file" and found nothing thats compatible for Windows7, and I don't want to spen my money on something im not sure if its the right one, so can anyone point me to the right direction that would be great!

A previously unknown Coderteam, "zero ware" have announced that they release it by the end of the month will be a HEN. With this it should be possible to start ISO's from the XMB and PSX emulation.
How far they are, you can see in this text.
6:20 A zero-ware is a Work in Progress (WIP) of team zero
I have been reversing Total_Noob's HEN (systemctrl, vshctrl, etc)
for 6:20 So that we, team zero, could make an updated / better version of it
that the users will enjoy (More than now).

Here's how the work goes so far:

systemctrl 90% reversed-fixing up USB patches and other patches
vshctrl 100% reversed-Adding Virtual PBP patches (ISO and CSO purposes)
rebootex not started - Will use TN's if we do not have time for the first release
satellite (vsh menu) not started - I plan on using our own vsh menu (I might reverse some of TN's functions, with other functions as well)

Installer 10% done - planning on adding a graphical GUI (for the users Wink)

6:20 A zero-ware so will try to fix the bugs of Homebrew crashing on loading, playing, or exiting
on most of the 3k models (and other bugs we have not discovered yet)
A zero-ware will therefore have a full version of systemctrl functions (TN did not add the ones for UMD and isofs)
It also will have ISO / CSO support (you will be able to lauch them via XMB) as well as support PSX dont know if its real thought i think they should not mess around with the nids tn put alot of work in it.

I think they should add a "Test M33" feature like what's on DCv8. That way we'll get full POPS Loader support (there's still no POPS for 5.50 GEN-D3, even after a year+ after it came out). It's the reason I'm using 5.00 M33-6 and couldn't be happier.

POPSLoader is for PSX games, for those of you who are new to the scene. Some PSX games work better with different versions. It's probably why not all PSP games are on PSN, because with each firmware version they break some compatibility. This way you get (close to) maximum compatibility.

So you can run CFW and homebrew and be amazed by double rainbows and unicorns and whatever it is your rose colored glasses allow you to see, or you can do what 99.9 percent of the readers of this board do, play ISOs. So, if you're gonna kill the hooker anyway, do it right and use the Prometheus ISO loader chainsaw, is what I say.

pircy did not kill the dc the ps2 did with its dvd player. when ps2 was released dc sales almost halted. sega did have the money to be number 2 in the market the dc was make or brake for sega due to there other failed consoles.

It says also for PSP so, after I rip my 3rd Birthday game and extract the contents with UMDGEN v4.00 and extract the 3rd.pkg file, I use the extractor and it says this is not a pkg file and I'm like what the heck, this IS a PKG FILE!!!! So can someone tell me why it doesn't work?

The thing is, while you're entitled to your opinion, these new discoveries just don't magically make what you want immediately available. This attitude is like if a game company announced that they were beginning work on a new game and a week later you were pissed that they released a video instead of the full game. These releases aren't "useless," they're built to get tools out to other developers so that they can do things exactly like what you want. If they kept everything to themselves until it was what you want, it would take significantly longer as only the original team would be able to do any work with it. If you're in such a hurry and know so much about it, go ahead and build a tool to sign your iso loader. Everything necessary has been provided at this point...
