Liquidzigong shared this little tidbit and shortly after -- BOOM! -- Prometheus-4 for 5.03 and 5.50 is released. This version is said to support Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and of course plenty of other 6.20+ required titles. Extract the RAR archive, copy the Prometheus directory to PSP/GAME and run it from the XMB. In related news I'd like to bid farewell to Liquidzigong who has decided to leave the scene. Its ironic... Prometheus was the god who gave humans fire, which enraged Zeus, who nailed him to the side of a mountain until it was I believe hercules freed him as one of his labors.

Liquid would be prometheus, giving us (humans) fire (game compatibility), and Zeus (Sony) getting pissed and punishing Prometheus (Liquid).

Hes a chinese hacker whos supporting piracy which is heavily enforced in China. He left due to the fact that he doesnt like Iron Bars, Cinder Block walls, and a cellmate named Bubba.

Someone hopefully will take his work and improve upon it, in the mean time, I suggest we all archive his files before China gets pissy with us. =P

After installed Prometheus 4 for CFW 5.03 GEN (PSP3000), the game Young Thor (psp minis) says that´s required the firmware 6.20 and doesn´t lauch. With Prome 3, the game doesn´t work anyway, but lauch and give some error code, and doesn´t display firmware requirements. Any ideas?

Make a magic stick/pandora battery, then you can flash to any firmware you like on that 1000. That's what I did, to go from 5.50GEN back to 5.00M33.

Try "PSP Tool 1.00", it's the easiest one I found to create the combo. Just tell it to create a magic stick with firmware of your choice (I use 5.00 option) and it'll auto prompt to create the pandora battery. So no need to worry there either.

If you pick 5.00 option, it'll install 5.00M33-4, so you're have to patch update to M33-6 after. Then install prome. Or you can then install 5.50GEN or find a version of TimeMachine which installs 5.50GEN instead of 5.00M33.

I think Sony is looking for the people that -make- the releases rather than those that download and show them off. I mean.. just look at youtube. It's filed with people showing how to hack the PSP. Sony can't afford to sue everyone on the site, but it -can- afford to make examples out of a few. So it's better to lay low with this kind of thing and don't make a profit. So I would say yes to your question. The contract you sign when you get the PSP states that you can't mess with the insides. No reverse-engineering.

after updating i suggest switching the version text back to 9.90 since it ran fine at that version number and as my gma says, 'dont try n fix nothing that works fine to begin with.' (southern accent)

No all silvers can be hacked sadly. I found several at Microcenter.

However, The simplest way is to just look for a Ceremic White Darth Vader one. I had one before my 3K, had to repair it but its all good. Sold it for 60$ which paid for my Big Boss Pack ^^ Funny thing is I got a 2K anyways for christmas

Make sure "Use Version.txt" is off.

My Version.txt was set to 1.00 and I couldnt play Battlefront 2 for a while, and wasted 5 hours before I was like "frak, its version.txt!". Turned it off, and game worked like a charm. I'm on 5.00m33-4 tho.

Funny, cuz you dont even know that Prometheus isnt a CFW. Its a add on to disable the version check requirement and patch the games to allow the use of a ISO loader. Its highly illegal in many countries including the USA.

So, you make a ISO decrypter that is primarily used for piracy, and you go to jail because everyone wants you to keep updating it. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut.

Sony cant touch you or me because we're not legally violating their terms of service or End user license agreement (ToS and EULA). The most they can do is void our warranties.

However, the programmers are in blatant violation of the ToS and EULA, therefore, they can and usually do get legal action agaisnt them.

Thats why MMOFPS games cant sue hackers, but can sue the sites and people who provide them (Ironically, they dont.)

As of today, the PSP 200x w/ TA-88v3 Mobo, PSP 300x, PSP Go are NOT IN ANY WAY HACKABLE (unless you have OFW 5.03).

There is no way to hack em.

There are Half Byte Loaders (HBL) availible for 6.20 via the Patapon 2 Demo exploit, 6.31 has the Hot Shots Golf (1 & 2): open Tee save exploit (Requires a hard legal copy from PSN or UMD). 6.35 and 36 are NOT Hackable YET.

Until TN releases his HEN thats all you got for a 3K. Make sure you read up all the stats about your psp before you start asking commonly answered questions, please.

Prometheus is an Add On to CFW to disable the Firmware Version check required by newer PSP games.

In other words, you can play, say, Metal Gear solid: Peace Walker on your hacked psp without patching the ISO.

As I said, its an Add On, so you do need CFW. If you were installing for a fully hacked psp (like a 100x), I could tell you where to go from there. The very best I can do is say to follow the instructions given. I dont know if the process is the same as on a fully hacked, or perhaps its standalone for 5.03 since its LCFW.

I hope, however, this has helped to explain a few things.

Madden and GoW are the ones where its risky to invest in simply because both of them shipped with either the 85(?) or the 88v3. Its truly a gamble if you buy one, hence we recommend you avoid it.

Just to note don't update to Prometheus-4 its buggy well at least for me I had to use hellcat flasher 1.60 back to M33 since Popsloader 3.00 to 3.52 don't work anymore in P4 since my RE2 and 3 is in 3.52 I can't play them anymore it freezes on opening FMV even I change it to 3.90 got past the FMV but freezes while opening the item box in Prometheus 1-3 it doesn't do that, if you guys still want to play RE2-3 stick with Prometheus 1 or 2 or 3 but not 4

I was using 5.03 MHU then my system shut down and so it went back to OFW 5.03. I did Chickhen r2 then instead of using CFW 3.6(for 5.03 MHU)I used 5.03 prometheus.it inially said error and pressed X twice. I checked my system it reads 5.03 Prometheus. is it OK?

csos' will run slower! on the larger game and graphically heavy stuff,(god of war, racing games) i just use ref iso..but with this everything i throw at it seems to work...except dragonball tag..damn it...one of the few games i want to plar really bad..but ghost of sparda ia awesome..used remotejoy to play psp 1000 on my monitor..

the only game i tried and was running slow was god of war ghost of Sparta and it ran flawlessly after i changed the CPU clock to 333...also avoid heavily compressed CSO's they will lag.

I have the 450 working with the phat 1000 m33-500cfw and Invizimals without this. (yje older Invizimals btw not the latest one, not tried that yet)
I used Torkys plugin, using psardumper to rip the 620 Eboot and use the usbcam.prx and usbmic.prx from that and teh plugin.
I couldn't get Invizimals to work when I used the 630 files for some reason and to date cannot get Eyepet to work at all with 620 / 630 and Torkys or using Prometheus as a plugin.(didn't want to install it if it potentially wasn't going to help anyway.)
If anyoen knows how to get Eyepet to work for my kids with the Phat / 450 cam / m33-500 cfw please do share !

I wanna thank Liquidzigong for this! Well I'm using two PSP slims and they are both using PROM-4. The only down-end of this is that the Internet Browser seems to have some bugs. BTW, I recommend if you're going to upgrade your PSP 2000 to PROM-4, do this: Upgrade your PSP to 5.50 GEN-D > 5.50 GEN-D2 > then 5.50 GEN-D3, after that you can upgrade it to PROM-4. It would make the games work smoothly with only a malfunctioning internet browser.

Some of the latest games like MH 3rd, 3rd Birthday, LOA, GE: Burst, etc. works with this CFW

I Upgraded to Prometheus-4 and have has NOOOO problems its running games that wouldnt run before and games that would freeze or just wouldnt boot are all working as well. And yes its Prometheus-4. And is says thats is 4 not three read!!!! Have been for about a month. COME OUT OF RETIREMENT Liquidzigong.....

I've been working at this for a week or 2 now. I have a fat psp 1000 CFW is at 5.50 prom-4, using the latest isotool etc. I cant get MHP3rd to run. It blacks out and the psp shuts down. Can someone give me a response that I can use besides "it works on mine"? Someone please help. Walk me/us through it.

Works fine with me.. I've upgraded my PSP 2001 from 5.50 Ged D3 to Prometheus 4 it worked like a charm. Now I can try the new Naruto Ultimate ninja impact demo! It rocks.. my old games and save datas doesn't have any problems.

Prometheus worked for me on my PSP 2000. After upgrading to 5.00 M33-6, I could not run Gran Turismo. I tried all the other stuff on youtube. Nothing worked. But Prometheus worked right away. Thanks.
