Update: Problems with Prometheus-3 for 5.50? Try this updated version (download below) out -- Prometheus-3 Beta 2. The installation instructions differ slightly: Copy PSP Firmware 5.50 (rename to 550.PBP) and 6.31 (rename to 631.PBP) to PSP/GAME/UPDATE. So in PSP/GAME/UPDATE you should have 550.PBP, 620.PBP and Prometheus-3 Beta 2's EBOOT.PBP.

Liquidzigong releases Prometheus-3 for all the current custom firmwares installed on all those PSPs out there... We're playing 6.XX required games on 5.00 M33-6, 5.03 GEN-C and 5.50 GEN-D. [poll id="7"] What's new in Prometheus-3? Well support for even more 6.30+ required titles, plus some other bug fixes here and there. Best of all, this version does not require decrypting EBOOTs and patching ISOs, just run the installer and you're set. Easy-peasy! according to liquidzigong, he fixed the savedata problem that happened with 5.50GEN-D, but as some user reported, Prometheus 3 does not support some of the older games. he changed a key in a KeySeed File...

hello can someone help. i just bought my psp 2 days ago. mine is PSP 3003 running OFW 5.03. I searched some tutorials on how to put this chick HEN but unfortunately i cant enable it. The 1.5 Kernel on 5.00 m33-6 doesn't work with this.
Spits out an error message if the 1.5 Kernel is installed first and you try to install Prometheus.
Games don't start if you install Prometheus first then the 1.5 Kernel.

The files for the installer should go into the "GAME" subfolder of the PSP folder from the memory stick. Then, just go to "Memory Stick" in the game section of the XMB (main PSP menu) and you're set.

If you update to Prometheus-3 and find your older isos don't work (like me).. you can always reinstall Prometheus-2 and go back to how you were. Or if you want to go back to 5.50 Gen-D3 final.. just reinstall that.

I rather have an add-on prx so that if it screws up u can just turn it off. Installing in the flash is too risky, I know Macro (one of the best apps out there) screws up the nintendo emulator so i just turn it off when playing nintedo emulator. PSP is expensive $ with the reccession going on, dont want to have partial brick compartiability issues.

a lot of newer games aren't working with that default firmware. I went from 5.50GEN D3 back to 5.0 M33-6 after I found Ys Seven did not boot with it. At the time, there was a m33_620 plugin released, so that was the only way to play it.

But now Prome exists, it's just a way to update the key vault file and a few other files needed to support new titles because M33 disappeared from the face of the earth and GEN has done nothing to fix/update their CFW, in recent months.

Updated this patch. However, playing games using KBBS pluggin will not work. Tested with Prince Of Persia which required KBBS but only work under Prometheus-2 and not Prometheus-3 as claimed run all games flawlessly. Please confirmed this again perhaps I might wrong somewhere...

I downloaded the Prometheus-3 for 5.00 M33-6 update, but it doesn't work. At the update screen I press X as required, it identifies the PSP, apparently it's updating, but then it says I need CFW "5.00 M33-6", I already have it, with the Prometheus-2 update installed. Finally tried it on mine, same thing. Reinstalled 5.00 M33-6, then want to 1.5 addon and couldn't install prome3 that way either. Reinstalled 5.00 M33-6, then installed prome3 and that worked.

HOWTO install Prometheus-3 on PSP-1000 with 5.00-M336 + 1.50 addon:
To install Prometheus-3, you must free up space into flash0
then enter into the "font" folder
copy "kr0.pgf on your desktop and rename "jpn0.pgf"
move-replace renamed file to "font" folder, exit restart your PSP and install Prometheus-3 (now there are free 1.5MB )

Anyone who has GEN-D or M33 can always roll back to their old cfw using Hellcat's Recovery Flasher, if they decide they don't want Prometheus after installing. ;)

wow. i just did the hellcats recovery flasher (v1.60) to get it back to 5.00 m33 (i think). then i got it back to 5.50 gen d3 and now none of my games work. whenever i try playing something, i get black screened, then it shuts off. fuck. can someone help out? (i have psp 1001)

You have to edit to version.txt file from flash0.
Open the GEN Menu (holding R while booting, PSP has to be completely off), go 'Advanced' and select 'Tongle flash0'. It will be located at the vhs/etc directory.
- But it's better that you do not mess with those stuff unless you're completely sure about what you're doing.

I on the other hand have a different kind of problem.
I have a PSP-1000 and am running 5.50 GEN-D. I put 550.PBP, 631.PBP and the EBOOT.PBP of Prometheus-3 Beta 2, run the application from PSP, and here's what I got after pressing 'X' on the initial message.

"Unpacking... done

Please wait..."

And after this, it got me back to the XMB giving me the following error:
"This game could not be started
(80020148)"

Anyone got this as well? Do I have to worry?

Okay, solved it. First you have to update from Prome-2 to Prome-3 (you can find it by googling 'prometheus-3 system software problem', it is the most upper site you see). After that you can update to Prome-3 Beta 2.

im not sure if it is different for the psp 1000 and the psp 2000 users i had no prob on my 2000 going from gen to premo didnt edit files at all. i just saved the premo folders to my game folder and ran the updates my games work great did try the new god of war not yet. my prob is that dam cam i have the plugins for the 5.00m33-6 u dont need to update to premo for the cam to work u just need the plugins but of curse my updates to get to premo from 5.00m33-6 seem not to work i installed the one to enable premo it gave me a stargate folder in my plugins and then i installed premo 2 but where u check to see ur firmware it still says 5.00m33-6

yes brother u are quite correct I am using 5.50 Gen D-3 updated to 5.50 Prome -2 prince of persia forgotten sands run flawlessly with KHBBS plugin and i tried 5.50 prome-3 and it will load and then hang so its not allowing games that requires khbbs to play in prome-3, tried downgrading to 5.00 m33-6 and tried prome-3 for 5.00 still no luck game loads a second and then black screen... so prome-3 is not flawless, I like prome-2 better.

k this i what i got and so far the gocam and invizimal game work with torkys m33_630 plugins and no premo how i did it i used pspgraderv8 used pandora to get back to 5.00m33-4 then i put in turkeys seplugins and put them in mine i deleted the m33_620.prx and m33_620_user.prx then i just changed the ms0:/seplugins/m33_620.prx to ms0:/seplugins/m33_630.prx vsh.txt and the game.txt now i took the kd6xx folder and put it in root of ur memory stick then take the usbcam.prx and the usbmic.prx out of ur kd620 folder and put them in the root of the kd6xx folder thats it ur done turn ur plugins on and enjoy o and the net dont work the web browser

o and for ur answer to the ?s of why ur psp firmware says 9.90 its like a cover up more like a blocker so it fools the games that needs like 6.40 lets just us that for an example to be played on ur psp but ur cfw is really what it says in ur system firmware info

For those with the 9.90 version problem.... You'll have to edit the version.txt file in the flash0 of your PSP in order to run the updater. As for my problem, the updater runs, enters the application to extract the firmware 6.xx files... but in the middle of the process, gives me an EBOOT.PBP error. Don't know why...

By the way, I forgot... About the version.txt file. It's in some "vsh/etc" directory if Im not mistaken... All you have to do is change the 9.90 value to something lower than your current FW.... and... My error ocurrs while trying to install Prometheus-3 Beta 2 on 5.50 GEN-D3 on a PSP 2000 (Slim).

slim2000 5.03 gen c full , updated to this new update but STILL the game Prince of PErcia was poping that erron and coudnt be loaded!! Still for some reason i wanted to test my Tilt F/X thingi ANd my surprise when prince of percia loaded pretty nice,, dunno why but only loads with the tilt FX , dunno if this might be some help for others !!!

i got torkys plugins to work ive gave up on premo i got all the way up to premo 3 all my games worked but my cam didnt i didnt try the the premo-3 beta 2 yet because i spent 2 days upgrading and downgrading my psp from 5.50gen-d3 to premo premo2 premo3 and back to 5.00m33-3 to 5.00m33-4 to 5.00m33-6 tried to get m33 premo to install it gave stargate but the rest of the premo didnt work then i went back to 5.00m33-3 and installed torkys m33_630 but get it at my site there where things missing and i made a video walk through and torky works and it is just some plugins but u most have cfw5.00m33 either of them will work enjoy

I've updated to Premo-3, but when I try to go to Premo-3 beta 2 I'm getting the 80020148 error. I've scanned through the comments and haven't yet found a fix that works for me. I'm on 5.55 Gen-D with Premo-3 (pre-Beta 2) on a 1000.

Man I think this is going to be a mess if you already install PROM-2 before 3 because I tryed uninstalling PROM-2 and it wouldn't delete the stargate.prx and manually deleted that and what not is there a way to manually delete the PROM-2 because the uninstaller is giving me hell I think its in like FLASH-0 or somewhere but don't know what files it installed...

Are you using a KHBBS plugin? If so, try disabling it and try running the umd mode under ns9660 or no umd m33.

Are you using the patch specifically for 5.00 M33-6? If not, do so. Also, always have your charger plugged on your PSP and charge it whenever you update your PSP. That way, you could prevent bricking your PSP as a result of power loss / insufficient battery charge.

Yes I am, I am not THAT stupid. I used the 5.50 P3 on my PSP-2000 with no problems. Someone else also had the copy file error too also on a PSP-1000 with 5.00 M33-6.

I have quickly read through all the comments but have found no definite solution to my problem. I am trying to play Ys: Oath in Felghana UMD on 5.00 M33-6 CFW (psp 1000). Prometheus 2 didn't work (still said I needed to install OFW 6.31 to play the game) so I tried the version above. I placed the 3 eboots into PSP/GAME/UPDATE with the correct names then ran the installer from the XMB

The PSP logo on the white background pops up and then my psp turns off after making some loading noises.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Can anyone confirm that re-installing M33-6 then installing prometheus 3 beta 2 again worked for them?

I have White PSP slim 2000(well 2001 in the battery cover inside) anyway i have CFW 5.00 m33-6. I put this update in the Game folder. I run it, it says psp2000 detected.... then installed... then press x to go back to your custom firmware. no erros. but nothing was really updated. I Try to boot up god of war ghost of sparta and it still prompts me to install 6.31... wat gives man?

Are you playing with a UMD or ISO of the game? I am am running 5.50 Prometheus 3 playing an ISO of the game and it plays no problem.

It seems like the lens of your PSP has already a problem or the UMD itself is deffective. Why not try making an ISO out of your UMD and play it in your memory stick? That way, you'll also verify whether the lens of your PSP pr the UMD has the problem. .

Well i download an ISO version of ghost of sparta. I dunno if the 6.31 patch even instaleld but sparta game works. The wownload does say it was patched to workth with m33-6 etc etc so who knows which one is doing the magic.

If it was patched to work with m33-6 that mean the eboot.bin was patched and Prometheus is not making it work. It would work without Prometheus being installed.

All I did was make an ISO of the UMD using the ISO tool and that was it. It just works. It was working under Prometheus 2 as well.

There's an incompatibility issue with older games with Prometheus-3 that's why Liquidzigong released the Beta 2 to addressed that problem. That is also the reason why I wanted to update mine to that.

okay after doing the update from 5.50 prom-2 to 5.50 prom-3 on a phat psp. Since then if I put my psp into its sleep mode it wont recover or do a full boot up unless I remove the battery then put in the AC adapter and power it on just like that. I tried to revert back to prom-2 but the issue still exists. Can anyone give me some advice cause this pisses me off. It worked fine until this. Though I did initially add some other plug ins I since removed them and went reformatted the memory stick so i knew they didn't exist the issue continued.

Prometheus 3 can't run Valkyiria Chronicles 2. I was able to play the game when I was using my PSP on Prometheus 2, but now it won't work with Prometheus 3. Let's just wait for the update. .

oK now I have 5.50 Gen D2 (using that due to all my files were corrupted on D3) now i dont know if i should wait until the Beta is finished or not as i dont want any of my files to be corrupted as i have hours of Monster Hunter and other games so will this work with GEnD2? and if so where do i put it?

I suggest you just wait for the next update by liquidzigong and skip the current one. Prometheus 3 find it troublesome running older games due to some keys removed by liquidzigong. I think he's working on it now.

My problem is that no other game runs !
I tried to update and got error, tried to uninstall and got error.

Now when I try to run any game on the iso folder I get the PSP white screen, and after 5 secs my PSP resets.

I have 5.50-gend3 phat 1001 PSP, when i try to install the prom.3-beta2 it says on the psp the file is corrupt, I downloaded this 3 times allready and still it says the same thing, verified the fw just in case but they are fine, so am guessing it must be this file from prom. any one with the same situation and is there a fix on this. I cannot get Eyepet to work, what CFW should I be using. I currently use 5.00 M33-6 with Prometheus-3 and installed the cam plugins. Cam works, I can load the game, then when it says "Push Any Button to Start" I do that and it goes straight to the camera image nothing else happens does not matter what button I push, I have to push the "Home" button to quit the game... I got the Cam Model 450. Any Idea anyone...??

Correct me if I misunderstood. You said that Prince of persia worked with the tiltfx was put in and didn't work by itself? Did the tilt fx device actually work too? I have been searching far and wide to get my tiltfx working on CFW and have found absolutely nothing useful. If you know some way please tell me. All I have right now is the regret of buying that damn thing in the first place. There is no way I am going to go back to official firmware to make it work. The tradeoff is not worth it at all to be limited to only a couple games i have for it.

you do not have to unistall the 5.03 gen-c to install the 5.03 prometheus. Just install 5.03 prometheus even though you installed 5.03 Gen-c already.

this works for me but some titles like tom clancys ghost recon predator wont work. i get the game started... i can choose gametype etc... but right before the game shall start it freezes and the psp shuts down.. i am a total noob just got the psp from my dad actually.. its an old one one of the first that got out so i guess psp-1000 then?
