C'mon... You didn't think Liquidzigong was gonna leave you hanging, did ya? PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33 users -- this one has your name on it. No ripping, no decrypting, no ISO patching -- just straight up integration with CFW 5.00 M33-6. Download and unpackage the rar archive, copy to PSP/GAME and run the installer. You'll soon be enjoying all the games that require a firmware later than 5.00. Good lookin' out Liquidzigong. Changes:

Sir ur-mom, if it is not a CFW, do you agree that I still can flash the GEN into it without a chance of brick? I don't put my hand on fire. FYI: I noticed that after installing this cfw; plugins in flash0: will not work anymore...
(plugin2flash / flash_loader)

Difference:
5.00M33-6 CFW Prometheus > usbisoloader > ULUS-10505 KHBBS - NO
(red screen, game doesn't load, you can exit with Home)

5.50GEN-D3 CFW Prometheus > usbisoloader > ULUS-10505 KHBBS - YES!
(game runs without problems)

CONLUSION:
OR USBISO loader is no more full compatible or KHBBS is not.

Translation:
Function: with 5.03/5.50 Prometheus-2 CFW.
Install: install 5.00 M33-6, and then run the attached program, press X button can be installed.

Note:
1. After installation, the system version is still 5.00 M33-6. However, if helpful to the Prometheus decryption function, the screen will become red.
2. If the game ISO already exists disc0: / PSP_GAME / SYSDIR / prometheus.prx, the system will disable the onboard Prometheus function. This function is to avoid conflict with the Prometheus module designed.

I hate it when releases DON'T HAVE ANY SPECIFIC INFORMATION
on regards to what specific hardware system they can be used. There's the PSP fat, the PSP-Slim, PSP-Go, then there are the different motherboards. Some plugins work well for the PSP Fat, but not for the Slim, some work well only on the Slim but not the Fat, and so on.

I wish that people would tell if a plugin was made for all hardware model, or just the fat or the slim or the go or for what.

it's for custom firmware 5.00 M33-6, so it's obvious you need a PSP that is capable of running a custom firmware, so that's PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 non-TA088v3 models.

I mentioned this because it has happened to me that when I have tried a new plugin, that was allegedly made for the PSP Fat, in reality it was a PSP-Slim only plugin that ended up bricking my PSP. If it had said "PSP-Slim plugin only" or "Do not use on PSP-Fat", it would had saved me a lot of trouble.

An uninstall feature like RedSquirrels Prometheus Installer would be the way to go, for M33. This is because of corrupted savefiles of older games played on M33(no prometheus add-ons). You can install to play newer ISOs, and uninstall for older ISOs and functioning plugins.

I'll wait for RedSquirrel for an uninstall option. Liquid seems to overlook that piece of the puzzle. Used it on my Gen D-3 though as savefiles are not an issue, but plugins/homebrew are.

Uninstalls ARE needed for ANY addon.

Ok, so I ran this program and it installed.
It won't play any newer games. In fact, it won't even play the old games I already have on my memory card.
When I run it sounds like it's going to load up, then the screen goes blank and it turns off.
Pissing me off.
Changed the kernel to 1.5x and 5.xx and still not working.

Ideas on how to fix this?

Well disabling the .prx allowed me to play my older games. So at least I have that working. Just wish I could figure out how to get newer games to play.

Then you have not tried Ys Seven. Gen 5.50-D3 would not play it. Flashed to 5.00M33-6 and used 620plugin, then Ys Seven worked.

From what I've heard, 6.00 had a pretty hefty kernal update, and would render most the current homebrew incompatable with it. I think it's probably an easier task to patch the isos for lower firmware than to make all the developers rerelease their homebrew to work on the 6.00 kernal.

I used this in my 5.00 m33-6 white fat psp (japanese) and I previously had used the redsquirrel version. I'm able to boot a clean .iso of KHBBS, but if I patch it with prometheus 1.73 it doesn't boot.

Greg says it u need a psp that is capable of custom firmware which is psp 1000 and 2000. But my 3000 is capable of running custom firmware, and is 5.00 M33. Are you serious?! 5.00 M33 is working on a 3000? How did you flash it? It might be a Partial CFW you're running... 5.00 M33 is only for PSP 1000's and PSP 2000's (Not TA088v3 Motherboards) and if you flashed it with Pandora Battery, ur PSP would've been bricked...

Well excuse me, man. It's hard to find good and coherent information on this stuff nowadays. I've been out of the scene for awhile and just upgraded to 5.50 Prom from M33 awhile ago. Now I came back and saw this and was wondering if it was relevant. Was it better if I had stuck with M33? Is it too late to go back? What is the difference between this and 5.50 Prom. It's not like there's a good repository for this information. Shit, even the CFW tab on the top of this site only leads to more news updates. Geez, sorry for not being up to date with this stuff. No, you were not out of line, I do however believe that this post was highly coherent. To answer you, this information is only relevant if you have 5.00 M33, there is absolutely no reason to concern your self with it if you have any other firmware. There is absolutely no difference in the prome releases, and yes if you have a pandora or have any other downgrade method it is possible to return to M33, though it wouldn't make any difference seeing as prome is just to enable newer games without the need to patch your backups. Sorry for freaking out on you, it was just that at the time I didn't really think it was that hard to understand the information posted about 5.00 M33.

I run it.
It says it installed and goes back to XMB.
It still says 5.00 M33-6.
I try running Prince of Persia and says it cannot start game.

It's cool man. I wasn't really saying that this post was incoherent, far from it, I was more referring that a good and detailed resource on PSP cfw is hard to come by nowadays. When I first installed it using a phat and pandora battery, there were lengthy step by step guides, with pictures and everything. Not so much these days. I was just a little lost in this. I see now though, that I'm good. Haven't run into any problems with 5.50 Prom. I wish there was a place that detailed the differences though. IS there a PSP Homebrew wiki that I'm not aware of? It's pretty jarring jumping back and forth between the Wii and PSP homebrew scenes. The difference is practically night and day.

I installed Prometheus-v2 on a PSP Phat with CFW 5.00M33-6. When loading an iso it would simply show me the PSP intro screen, leave the memory stick led on and then shut down automatically.

I used the uninstaller to uninstall Prometheus and now the iso's won't load at all. After showing the PSP intro screen, the screen goes black and shuts down automatically.

Can anyone please tell me how to get the 5.00M33-6 working again?

I have a CFW 5.00 M33-6 psp slim and wanted to play the game 'Despicable Me' but always the first level when I pass by (can't avoid it) the same path the game freezes and than after 10 sec. my PS just shuts down.

I hoped this patch would fix the problem because it's a new game. I heard it has extra security that 5.00 M33-6 can't handle. Anybody know if there is any other way to play the game? Thank in advance!!!

Okay yall...been a while. I started hacking as soon as I got the PSP, bricked it, and unbricked it myself. Finally I started using dark_alex's stuff (his website is down??). I'm currently running 3.90m33, don't remember how old it is but that with an added 1.50 kernel has worked for me all this time. So my question is, what are the advantages of the newer CFWs for a first-motherboard PSP hacker? Best to go with the newest one or something a little older? I don't want to play any games, just have less bugs in IR/WIFI interfaces and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How come a lot of people having issue with this? it's plain and simple, first ur psp must have the 5.00 m33-6 cfw. i used to have red squirrel's previous version, it worked like a charm, i was able to uninstall it just fine, installed this latest incarnation and no problem, games and homebrews are all working. for those of you having issues removing any previous prometheus plugin, once you installed the app either via classical install or via flash, do not remove the app from your memory card [u can use it later to uninstall the plugins, besides its just a few mb in size], or do not tamper any settings on the seplugins itself that might conflict with the plugin itself.

Actually locknload, this version of prometheus from liquidzigong doesn't have any uninstall option included, i was tempted to install it but nah, i still have red squirrel's version still working just fine for me, and i have read most of the replies here and it seems like after you guys installed the application, it overwrites the flash of your memsticks that's probably why most of your games, saves and everything no longer working now. I was kinda oopps... not today liquidzigong, not today.

ive upgraded from 5.50 gen-d3 to 5.50 Prome-2 my games work great like MGS peace walker and invizimals. but there was a down fall the camera didnt work so i downgraded when i seen the plugins for m33 prometheus 2 m33-6 and the 6.20 plugins and the plugins for the camera. camera worked great nothing else worked like my iso,s or the umd invizimals game. to me its not worth the time to downgrade back to 5.00m33-6 dont get me wrong i loved it Dark_AleX was the man half the things now dont work with 5.00m33-6 anymore even with prometheus 2 5.00m33-6 addons and plugins. and im using a psp 2000 piano black works fine

I used to have the original PSP fat when if first came out. Downgaded it to 1.5 and was happy playing my Iso's and my emus all was Peachy...I think up until the end i was using 3.71M33. But its been 2 years since i sold my psp ( Yeah i know , Sacralige) lol =P And now i have REcently got myself an new one ... Its a PSP 1003 fat version 2.60. Even looked in the UMD drive to check the mother board and theres no Markings meaning its not a TA-082 i think... and the prblem is its been so long since i used to mess about with firmwars i was wondering could u guys Tell me what software, Firmware and stuff that i need to get my psp hacked to its full potential.. Well, for your stuff, i suggest getting a pandora batter and flashing it from there. you can also update to 5.03, use chickhen, and then use recovery flasher. the pandora method is easier to use if you already have access to a pandora battery. if not, then use the chickhen method

hey - i used this and now newer games work that didnt before (like dante's inferno) on 5.00 m33 6, but now a bunch of my ps1 games dont work like resident evil directors cut, popsloader plugin not showing up in the plugin in recovery console, but other ps1 games seem to be working fine like castlevania symphony of the night - any ideas guys?

I have been trying to get this to work so I can play MHp3rd, but for some reason, even though I am running 5.00 m33-6; I am getting this error saying: "needs 5.00 m33 to work, sorry".

BTW, I have a PSP-1000.

thats exactly what i had. except with a phat psp. first upgrade to 5.0 m33. then get the m33-6 upgrade. and then finally get your prometheus update for your slim psp.
