Correct; it's beta, but it's proof it works. Support for other platforms coming soon.

If you click the link it says this :

Drum roll please… You’re about to experience Remote Play like never before — on your [Intel-based] Mac, that is.

First and foremost, you will need access to a hacked PSP to export the remote play settings. All that’s included in the download package.

ORP Howto:

1. If you have not done so already, register your PSP with your PS3 for Remote Play.
2. Copy the ORP_Export folder (it’s included) to your PSP under /PSP/GAME
3. Run Open Remote Play Export on your PSP. This will create a file on the memory stick called export.orp. Copy this file to your PC.
4. Run the ORP GUI and click on Import, locate and import export.orp. You will have to manually change the IP address of your PS3, by default it will be set to 0.0.0.0. I keep two profiles, one for local LAN and another for when I’m connecting from the Internet. You can create multiple profiles by simply changing the Name field and clicking Save.
5. Click Import again, this time locate and import “keys.orp.” You only have to do this once for a new installation, or if there is a key update.
6. Select a profile, cross your fingers, and click Launch!

Dashhacker strongly encourages you read the included README.txt before proceeding; remember, this is beta.

The API and Windows player will be available within a week. Enjoy — now lets get drunk, beers on Dashhacks tonight!

Because you're a poor son of a bitch that can't afford a PS3. :)

If this is for the Mac...the definitely could've afforded a PS3...

Has anyone ever thought for once, that maybe we don't want a PS3...but would like some of the exclusive features? naw....too simple.

huh? did you hit with your head when you were a kid? or you are still one? (see what i did here?)

i don't remember saying anything about having a ps3 or not, i asked why this news is here since this is psp-hacks and not ps3-hacks... i guess my question was too much for your little brain to understand :\

For anybody who is not already aware, this was also posted here because in order to use Open Remote Play on your mac, you need to have ORP_export on your PSP to create export.orp which contains all of your Remote Play settings for use with the Mac-side software.

Hopefully this clears it up so we don't get too many more posts asking why this is here cluttering up the comments.

No, the PSP is only used to make a file for other things to use remote play.... idiot.

This is nothing specifically for the PSP, it just slightly involves it...

It is, it's homebrew that extracts the encryption keys for use in remote play. What you do with it, is up to you.

Well, you do know that a hacked PSP is *required* for this to work right? Seems pretty relevant to me... it is a PSP hack.

If by "slightly involves it" you mean, "is impossible without it", then yes - you nailed it!

Don't call other people an idiot. It's rude.

I developed under Linux and ported to MacOS, Win32 soon. Linux will always be supported as it's the lead platform... ;)

Awesome, I just didn't see anything about linux at first. Sorry I've used linux exclusively for the past 9 or 10 years, just used to getting the shaft for alot of things. I did some google searching and saw that you will release the linux source soon. That's good enough for me. I'll probably make a ebuild for gentoo.
