More PSP Custom Firmware Updates

A whole slew of custom and light custom firmware updates from the one and only neur0n! neur0n has updated LCFW 6.39 ME to v9.5; LCFW 6.60 ME to v1.4; and the same goes for the non-light versions ... CFW 6.39 ME v9.5 and 6.60 ME v1.4. What's new? The same for each:

Fixed USB Connect in Recovery menu.(05g only).
Update VshMenu.

No offense to neur0n when I say this but I will bet that a new PRO CFW is on the way because neur0n is on the PRO TEAM so there is not much of a difference between the firmwares just that ME gets updated for small things like this as PRO only updates either if a specific time has passed since their last update or they need to update because something needed a major fix
like I said there is no offense intended just voicing my opinion just like the rest of you

yeah probably in a while but b-9 just came out when 9.4 ME came out some time around then.... ME just has more options then pro....i like them both but i use ME permenant... I still cant wait to see what the next PRO update looks like though. Ya'll know what i mean?

Just install both and use bootloader of pro or me but I am using 6.60 of both thou don't know myself if perm and booting other will work thou and can not test have PSP GO The reason why I don't try perm only perm for go is PRO 6.20

Same for Slim 2000. I can't see any reason to stay on M33. ME does it all and dual boots OFW.

First you have to know what firmware you are on if it is 6.60 if you have 1000 or 2000 model then cfw that matches your firmware if any other model lcfw that matches your firmware

you actually only have to install one of the updates for the lcfw and you can use both of the launchers but you can also just install permanent ME cfw then use the fast recovery form PRO and you technically have a triple firmware which ever way you choose

It means your PSP was hacked already. That is a older Custom Firmware. If I was you I would look into updating to 6.39, then just use LCFW. That just works from memory. CFW writes to the flash and stores it there. either way should be ok depending on the Model # of the PSP

Excellent CFW! I just updated my old PSP2000 5.50P4 to CFW 6.60ME. Everything works great! no problem at all! And the best thing of all is that it's permanent!!!

I have a PSP 2000, and I'm still running CFW 5.50 Gen D3. The newest game I've been playing is Sora no Kiseki. All of the different CFW's are confusing me, so can anyone please tell me which 6.xx is the best CFW to run for the 2000? Thanks in Advance.

I would say to update to 6.60 and install 6.60 PRO B-9 OR GOD III OR ME 1.4 you can find the download links on this site.(those CFW's are all I think permanent wich is best if the PSP turns off. I know for sure that GOD and PRO are both permanent since i have used them both on 6.60, but i have never checked out ME)

Let me see if I'm doing this right

1) I put the update folder in psp/games

2) then I put the official update file and named it 660.pbp in that update folder as well

3) then I ran the update file from the psp itself

I get the following error

"The game could not be started (80020148)

Any suggestions what this newbie is doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

system software version is 6.60 at present

I have an old PSP and I know nothing on it, I think it's 1001 and I updated from long time ( after I paid some money to some people to do it for me and they didn't tell me what they did or what version and what custom they used ), after that I updated to version 6.60 from SONY website and when I seen you talking on some files on the PSP memory stick on this web I couldn't find any of them.

Please I need some one to help me on this, from some one have more patience, to teach me every thing from the beginning and how to install and where I can find all those files and put it on my PSP

i got handed a psp 3000 the other day and im not sure if these are able to install psp cfw, if anyone knows if this can be done could you send me an email to darrenwatson@ho tmail.co.uk.

im not asking how to do it, if you could tell me if its possible and what or who made the cfw and ill be able to do it from this, ive flashed many psps over the years then stopped and untill now ive never had to flash a psp with official fw on it.

I have recently downloaded firmware 5.50 GEN-D3 to try and update my PHAT PSP 1002 mobo TA-081 firmware 5.50 GEN-D (FULL).

When I run the update it shuts off my psp and now all my games both UMD and ISO gets a error message of 80020148.

The 5.50 GEN-D3 is saved in my the following folder PSP/GAME/UPDATE and the 550.PBP file is saved in the root of my memory stick but cannot be installed to update my psp.

Can someone please help me as I'm a newbie to all this firmware stuff and just want to be able to play new games, my psp was moded back in 2009.
