Last week I put forward a damn nice piece of Pokemon homebrew going by the name of Liquid Crystal. If you haven't seen this you are really missing something amazing....
The game can be played on any emulator provided you have the game patched up from an untouched copy of Fire Red for Gameboy Advance.
For those of you who haven't played the game, I encourage you to read the previous article linked above and get amongst the hacked Pokemon fun. Learn about the game and its origins.
Personally I think this game goes above and beyond the call of the every day game hack/remake. The entire game was taken apart from the inside out to give us a Gameboy Advance experience of an old Gameboy Colour favorite.
If you did manage to get the game working (on your PSP/PS3/PC) then you are in for a very long Pokemon Crystal experience. A huge feature of this ROM is the addition of the Orange Islands into the game, making the story a hell of a lot longer. But enough about my opinions, we want to hear yours!
Leave a comment below whether you have played the game recently, have finished one of the earlier beta's, or you have watched a YouTube playthrough about what you think of this expansive piece of work.
Talk amongst the community is always what we want to see, and I'm sure the developers themselves will love to see some feedback from you, the ones who have played/seen it.

I've certainly been enjoying it so far. It makes me wish gpSP had a link feature. At least I have a GBA Rom Cart: Pokemon Liquid Crystal played on a Game Boy Advance SP

Jesus christ, this isn't homebrew. It's a fucking ROM hack, has nothing to do with the PSP. Unless you count the fact you can use an emulator that isn't new at all, to play it on the PSP. This is just a shit site, acting like any little un-related thing is news worthy. Pitiful.

Junaz here,
Got 'er runnin on my PSP and she's wicked wild! I have to say, this patch got dem moves like jagger! These guys pretty much created a new standard for pokemon games and now Nintendo will have to fight to do better... and they probably won't because Liquid Crystal kicks ass!

Best G/S/C remake yet. I've been sad that Crystal won't work with Goomba Color, so now I can play this on my GBA Flash cart. ^_^

Fuck off with your bullshit, nigger.
This is a PATCH. It's 100% Homebrew. The end result from patching Pokemon FireRed creates a ROM hack.
Know your facts before spouting bullshit in a battle of wits.

It's unfortunate that you feel this way about the site and its news, however this is a huge ROM, that I and the majority of other readers seem to think fits in and is worthy of -hacks news.
This could have gone on PS3 news, iPhone news even, but PSP seemed appropriate as it is portable, and very popular for GBA emulation.
Hopefully the rest of our news meets your high standards in the future.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I know the two developers are enjoying reading what you have to say.

Do me a favour; make a game, develop it for five years and come back when you actually know what the fuck you're talking about. The only thing pitiful is your lack of understanding for a hacking project which is rightfully being showcased on a hacking site. I featured Liquid Crystal years ago when I worked for Greg.
Liquid Crystal is not homebrew like you said - it is a ROM hack. However, it functions correctly on a PSP using GPSP because the emulator supports real-time-clock. The GBA doesn't even have a clock, so the feature is used for timed events - so the experience is better on Android, PSP and PC. The game doesn't even function correctly on GBA emulators on the Wii or other platforms.
Fun fact: 125,000+ people responded to Liquid Crystal on Reddit when we showcased it - most people appreciated it.
Btw, I'm one of the owners of the project, so please, refrain from being a moron.

Sorry, but how it should be installed on the PSP?

I tried running this on GPsp and when I go to look for the rom it's nowhere to be seen when I boot I up the emulator on my psp.

The .ips filemust be patched to an untouched ROM of Pokemon Fire Red first using LunarIPS to come up with a ROM-Hack of Pokemon Liquid Crystal. Place the ROM-Hack anywhere in your PSP's memory stick as long as you could locate it when trying to run it (i.e. ms0:/PSP/GAME/ROM. .) using the emulator.
It's best that you rename the ROM-Hack to Pokemon Liquid Crystal from Pokemon Fire Red after patching to make things easier for you.

hey devs, the game freezez everytime i enter any room in the battle tower, also the berry's i plant won't grow, and a few more not worth mentioning because they're small things that don''t really affect the playability of the game........but not being able to play in the battle tower is quite frustrating, i will keep on going to see if i'm able to finish the story, just thought you might wanted to know about this, if not, im sorry. awesome game so far by the way.

Is it possible to collect all Pokemon of Fire Red's generation in this ROM-hack including event ones like Celebi etc.?

yeah does this game let you capture all of the pokemon found in firered ans leafgreen?
if it does then this game is the best out of all the official pokemon and hacked pokemon games as im tired of having to breed, cheating and trading for pokemon
if not oh well...

You can catch em all in this version

Seriously guys. What ever happened to the dictionary. Brew, verb (used with object) 4. to contrive, plan, or bring about: to brew mischief.

I am new to hacking the PSP and such and would love to be able to plays this game on there, but I have no idea where to start. I got a GBA emulator on the PSP and downloaded the game but obviously it didn't work cause, well I think you get the idea why
. Anyways, if you wouldn't mind helping me figure this all out, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am new to all of this and have just recently hacked the PSP, I would really like to play this game sounds I've heard nothing but great things about it. I have no idea where to start though. I've got a GBA emulator but I don't think that really means much in this case. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
