LCFW, CFW 6.60 ME v1.3 Released

Submitted by greg; September 01, 2011

Back again ... neur0n with a touch of custom firmware goodness -- CFW and Light CFW 6.60 ME. Whatever your PSP model you'll find a compatible version: PSP-1000 (01g) and PSP-2000 (02g, non-TA088v3) should use the non-light version; while everyone else, including PSPgo owners, you ought to try LCFW. It's ME or PRO... So what are you running? [poll id="12"] Download: CFW 6.60 ME v1.3 | LCFW 6.60 ME v1.3 - source: @neur0ner

I know I must sound like a total noob but can someone please tell me the difference with the CFW and the LCFW. LCFW works on my psp 1001 model so why should I get the regular CFW instead of the LCFW.

CFW is always there. When you fully power off the system and restart it, it boots right back to the CFW. LCFW just kinda sits in memory. I have a PSP 3000 9g and use both OFW, LCFW 6.39 LME-9.4 and the 6.39 Pro-9B (nightly). But it is all up to you. It only takes 10 seconds to run the recovery or luancher eboot.

there are other things the CFW might do, but I am just getting back up to speed myself. I had a psp 1000 1.50 model and got ride of it when DAX stoped making stuff. But the groups that took his place are doing a great job

Installed to my PSP1000 from 5.50 D2.  Changed version.txt to be 5.50 before it would install.
Issue, if I go into system settings, the PSP locks up and shuts down. :(

Oh... seems any settings options lock up the console. :(  If I boot on OFW (pressing Home) everything works ok.

If you have Cxmb plugin on, that is most likely the problem. Turn that off, and your problem will be fixed

you have to edit the version.txt in "flash0" and change it to 5.55 or any number lower than 6.60

You should find that option in the recovery menu. you need to enable it and then connect your psp to the computer and go find the "version.txt" file in vsh folder and change the number to 5.55. Make sure to disable it after you're done before attempting to update to 6.60 ME. Good luck!

Yeah you can dual-boot with the PSPGo also and no there isn't any reason you would need the cfw enabler.
That's what your cfw is for :)

1000=1g
2000=2g
3000=3g,4g,7g,&9g
GO=5g
E1000=11g
It has to do with what firmware modules the mobo revision can run. 6.60LME or Pro can run on any of them. 6.60ME can only run on 1g/2g.

Take your battery out & make sure it doesn't say 8C. If it says 8C somewhere under the battery then you have a TA-0088v3 mobo & will have to use the LME version. Otherwise use the ME version.

The savedata corruption is because of updating from 5.50GenD, not the cfw. People have this problem all the time when updating from GenD. Google MagicSave, it'll help fix your savefiles.

You can uninstall the LME with the installer that comes with it. The ME version can only be uninstalled by up/downgrading.

M33 IS DEAD. damn get over it already gen was better anyways. At least with the PRO and ME series, you can load the newer games pre-patched (KH-BBS, The 3rd Birthday, etc, etc) m33 is no longer been developed, it has been dead for almost 2 years now, upgrade people (BTW to the people having trouble downgrading, use Hellcats Recovery Flasher V1.65, it WILL DOWNGRADE ALL (even 6.60) FWs or CFWs

dont use the cfw use the lcfw as the 3000s reset any cfws after powering off, where as lcfws do the same, they are alot quicker to boot back up

good work neur0n i have tested this version extensively with no problems apart from recovery menu not working correctly about 70% of the time (unless i turn off all plugins) 1 for the changelog, maybe? but u tha man neur0n good shit mate works with every game ive played so far (except for certain ps1 games {eg the warning logo has been changed, it wont work) not sure if that is just on this version or if its an ongoing problem from older versions. apart from that, 10/10 =D

That doesn't even make sense. You can't put a cfw on a 3000. It has to be a lcfw or a hen.

Hi,

I'm really noob on this subject. I have a PSP Go with 6.20 TN-c Hen Ex and I like to know if there is any way to run an updated CFW just like the HenEx (go to games folder and run it only when I want to play iso's).

The LCFW works like I pretend or I'll need to downgrade my PSP anyway?

Sry my bad english.

Exactly right. Just download the LCFW (or at this point, find v1.6 esp if you don't mind updating or have updated to OFW 6.60), run the "installer," then from then on you can just run the "launcher" when you want to play ISOs; it'll seem like it "reboots," check System Info to confirm the version is the same as the one you downloaded/installed. From here, just play ISOs all you want!

When you're done with ISOs and want to "go back to normal," just turn your PSP fully off, then turn it back on. You'll be back to running the OFW you were before you started.

I was mad when I was mistakenly sent a 3000 series in my "used" Daxter pack, but have since realized I think I'm actually happier being able to boot into OFW if I want to...although unlike you, I tend to spend most of my time in the CFW, I just like knowing the OFW is still there, and my PSP /= BRICK haha enjoy
