Homebrew from Art: Powernoid V4e & Audio Mechanica V8d Released

Submitted by greg; February 09, 2009

Two quality homebrews consolidated into one post; it's Art's Powernoid & Audio Mechanica... Powernoid is the Breakout clone modeled after Amiga's MegaBall, which also inspired DX-Ball for Windows. You know what that's all about -- keep the ball in motion, bust bricks, and collect power-ups, minus the bad ones. Audio Mechanica is a digital audio recorder for the PSP. You know, like the commercial, "where did I park my car? Oh no... Blue section, row 18." You will however require another piece of hardware; Audio Mechanica supports any Socom compatible headset with PSP headphone remote control, the Go!Cam (Chotto Cam), and the Talkman USB microphone.

Powernoid V4e changes:
  • Black and white death screen implemented to fall in line with the Windows DX-Ball game.
  • Last brick blows up if it is in play for too long to fall in line with Windows DX-Ball game.
  • Some code optimization.
Audio Mechanica V8d changes:
  • Program now checks for music folder in the root directory, and creates it if it does not exist so that the program works with Memory Sticks that are formatted by older firmware versions.
  • Updated to Peb's latest OSK library so the onscreen keyboard language matches the PSP settings.

So assuming Sparta went further yes you could. But, haven't heard a dang thing about Sparta, Gripshift, or HEN for a long while now.

Wish I had 1000 compatible headset instead of 2000 bleh, damn chrismas gift error because of Gamestop employee retardation!!

Can u just plug a mic into the mp3 controller thing that came with the psp1000? Or do u have to actually strip the wires and destroy the thing. (This is for making the homemade headset ofc)

The regular socom headset that plugs into the remote works. I also found that with the monitor function you can pick up what people are saying across a room and hear it in the headset if you have the socom one but he should add monitor while record if it is possible. With it as it is you can use it as a sound amplifier but can't record while listening at the same time. All in all great piece of homebrew. Don't know about the socom headset/remote combo for the fat but I would assume it would work also since the added pins on the slim are for video and I think they would of made it that way for the code to be easily backwards compatible for the mic function between the 1000 and 2000.

Your not going to because sony will patch the exploit. The reason we have CTF for the 2000 and 1000 models is because dark alex figured out sony's encryption and supposedly most of the 3000 models are decrypted just can't get the hardware to go into the right mode to flash it. (From what i've read about it so far that is my understanding.)

1st! After 2years!haha... Now this thing works perfectly on my 5.03 prometheus 3000 psp.. And theres no need for any connections whatsoever.. Just using the builtin mic. And great quality too. Even a whisper 2 feet away can be recorded.
