Easy 2.50/2.60 Downgrader Released

A developer by the name of Xtrusion has released a Windows tool to aid in the 2.50/2.60 downgrading process. It doesn't get any easier than this folks: simply connect your PSP via USB and run this executable, follow the steps which are presented in a textual and audible manner, the downdater files (released a few days ago by Dark AleX, Mathieulh and Yoshihiro) will be copied to the correct locations on your memory stick, and shortly thereafter... voila! You've got a 1.50! Download Easy 2.50/2.60 Downgrader - packages includes everything you need. Note: Remember, there are precautions you should take before attempting a downgrade - you may render your PSP a brick:

Your PSP CANNOT be a TA-082 (If you do have this PSP version, it may result in a brick)
Your PSP CANNOT be a factory 2.50/2.60 PSP! It had to have been updated once before from a previous version or the downgrader will not work, thus a brick!

I had 2.50 and heard downgrader (the one previous to this post). I upgraded to 2.60, and then decided to risk it. With the files I downloaded from this site, I had no problem at all. I now have a 1.50 PSP.

The instructions tell you to go in and delete all the files off your mem stick....

Two things that make this downgrader whilst good, not much use to many.

1. No good those who bought a PSP with 2.5/2.6 preloaded.

2. Most people who upgraded from a usable F/W version most probably have been dumb enough to continue to upgrade to 2.7+ by now.

For all those bitching about having to use GTA to use this downgrader, someone you know most probably has it, or a video/game rental store may have it to rent.

i had a 2.01 upgraded to 2.60 a few months ago to play socom umd and downgraded yesterday night my mother board reads ic6001. i also downgraded my mates factory 2.60 psp with no problems at all and his mother board also reads ic6001 so i dont know what the warning means on the downgrader when it says it wont downgrade a factory 2.50-2.60 psp,anyway just sayin thanks to the developers who worked a long time on this exploit.

Australian Tasmania- psp white 102KCW on the box with firmware 2.5 brought it from kmart, i upgraded it to 2.6 then used the downgrader, worked like a charm! only brought it like 2 hours ago and rented gta eheh thank you to all who made this downgrader! very happy i wanted a white to go with my 1.5 black jap, yes im one of them who never upgraded :)

If there is no writing you have not got a ta-082 thus you should be fine, don't take my word for it tho i jus downgraded my factory 2,60 with the code ic6001 which you shouldn't be able to downgrade but it worked and now im running homebrew app's with ease. I succesfully downgraded from a brand new european factory 2.50 PSP, so it DOES WORK on factory 2.50 and you DON'T have to upgrade to 2.60 first... And yes, 1.50 is awesome!!!

dude i got so scared!! instead of me having to wait for it to stop blinking it restarted itself and had like 10 languages on screen! i was scared. so i hit cirlce and it restarted and asked me all teh date settings...then i entered it and it said disk error. so i rebooted and sha bam! i hav a 1.5 from 2.60

JAP PSP Ceramic White 2.5 factory owner.
Used Downgrader2.50-2.60ENFULL.exe (Easy downgrader 2.50/2.60) and after a few minutes, it succeded!!!

Hi, I've seen that people who bought 2.5 factory psp's have been able to downgrade, but ... instructions warn that this will not work, I'm confused. I have a 1.5, but if it's possible to downgrade a 2.5 factory psp I'd deffinitely go get one, just for backup purposes... :)

Can anyone please confirm that IT DOES WORK, Beyond any reasonable doubt, with new 2.5 factory PSP's?....

There's in my opinion a FAQ needed even for this easy to use downgrader. Reading the post someone who has downgraded a factory 2.6, need to answer the following:

1. Does this downgrader support factory 2.5/2.6?

2. Is there a need for GTA during the downgrade process?

3. Are you requried to do anything, like delete files from your PSP prior the downgrade process, or are you prompt to do so during?

4. Is GTA needed to load homebrew or iso's after the downgrade to 1.5?

5. How do you distinguish a patch GTA version from the original released, since the patch version does not comply with eloader?

These questions are needed to be answered. i.m.o

people, it wrked for some people with factory 2.5 FW so its your call if you wanna risk it or not!!!!!! Everything you need to know is on the instructions, if it says to delete you delete, just do what they say, and you should be fine. This didn't work for me. I deleted the files from the mem card then ran the program. It copied all the files to the card but when I tried to run it from the eloader, my psp goes black and my mem card light does not blink at all. It boots up just fine like nothing happend. Am I doing something wrong here? I'm fairly positive mine was a 2.00 when I got it. I remember having to update when I got GTA.

wow... just downgraded my white psp from a 2.6 to a 1.5.. started playing the new tekken 5 dr iso in jap and that game is the best game ever!! but the crazy thing is once i exited tekken.. and return to the psp menu screen, my confirm button was now X instead of O (americanized instead of trad. jap buttons) and i checked my firmware and it went to a firmware 2.5.. happen to anyone else? seems like this downgrade is not so reliable.. oh well.. atleast i have a 1.5 black psp that i downgraded froma 2.0

*ANOTHER UPDATE* it seems as if my new white 2.5 (After the downgrade then back to an unusual upgrade by itself) i can only access ISOs as if I am going to load a UMD.. i cant run any apps on my memory card so its really acting like a 2.5 but it is playings backed up ISOs as UMDs.. i need to know is this normal because it is becoming a hassle to access other ISOs and games.. please let me know if anyone is going thru this

*LAST AND FINAL UPDATE* false alarm.. it turned out that my white psp continued staying as a 1.5 after the 2.5/2.6 downgrade.. i found out by taking out my memory stick to confirm its weird activity.. turns out that the app i installed with my tekken 5 iso caused my psp to trick its firmware to a 2.5 to play the ISO.. therefore i thought it upgraded itself.. haha.. im funny.. anyways, good luck everyone and have fun with their "new" psp's.. i know i am

why the hell do you need the ac mains adaptor plugged in.... My psp will NOT charge for some reason so i use an external psp battery charger using the same psp ac mains adaptor... I stupidly upgraded from 1.5 to 2.6 thinking it may fix the charging problem and it didnt, also when i upgraded it didnt ask for the ac mains to be plugged in!!! So why do you need to have it plugged in for this downgrader?? Is there away around it?

I used this on a Factory 2.50 (European)

I have read every comment on this thread, and I am looking for anyone who has bricked his/her PSP using this downdater. I have a PSP (non TA-082) that was upgraded to 2.6 from 1.5. I know that this PSP should downgrade fine, but (quite obviously) I do not want to brick it.
I am well aware that messing with the PSP's falsh can cause damage, which is the risk one takes I guess. So, has anyone bricked a non-TA082 and upgraded PSP?

1.5 is well easy to use when you find out how and using devhook to use all the features of the later firmwares and running iso files without upgrading is amazing. I can confirm for anyone that is worrying this does work on factory 2.6 psp's i used to have a 2.71 psp but it broke so sony sent me a new 2.6 psp model number 1004 tried downgrader and it works perfectly this downgrade is a must have for anyone on 2.5 and 2.6 unless of course you have the ta082 mother board
