That's right. On this long Labor Day weekend you can do it too... Emulate the Nintendo DS on your PlayStation Portable with Yoshihiro's port of DeSmuME: DSONPSP BETA 5. BETA 5 changes:

Removed vertical screen mode but I've added the screen swap.
Added language support now working.
GU support added.
Very nice speed up; now many games are really playable.
Fixed when nds games freeze your psp.
Source code added for psp; still not cleaned.

I dl'd this and installed it properly on the psp, put the DSONPSP folder in game and then put the NDSROM folder inside the DSONPSP one, but when I try to load it goes to the config or w/e asking what lang. I want and stuff but then when I press start at that to play the game it goes to a black screen and stays there unless I press a button in which case it goes immediately back to the XMB, any help or ideas on what I could be doing wrong???

yea i have it on my xmb under games and it loads then gives me list i choose lang(1) and when i press start it just goes back to xmb! wtf? ive tried it in game5.xx, game, get the same results. not working for me and usually i get most things to work but this doesnt! can anybody help me?

Ive learned in the last with other emulators when ugetthe black screen to just wait, sometimes all it needs is some time to load the rom. I will try this shortly and hopefully that the problem. Also u must expect as all emulators that not all roms will be playable, that just the way it is with some rom rips.
I am however hoping the pokemon is playable cuz as the person above said that the 1 game i emulate in most of my emulators lol , thank you Yoshihiro for your hard work it is much appreciated.

So when you emulate that "butt-ugly handheld", you're also emulating those two handhelds (maybe not so much the DSi, but you get the drift), both of which look far better than the PSP-1000. But you choose to portray the PSP's "rival" in such an ugly fashion, when you actually know both of the rehashes look far better. And no, I'm not a fanboy of any kind; fanboyism is freaking stupid. So the psp has such a sad library of games it has to emulate the ds to get some? Just some counter-hate since I've only seen 1 post that had it in there. Anyways, glad this is out as I haven't bothered with the Rom-loader on my DS yet and would like to try some foreign games before importing :) Hopefully this can continue to at least increase compatibility (speed is nice, but if I can just get something loaded up to get a glimpse of how it plays is better).

Hmm, I can't get anything to work.
I have a PSP 2000 with 5.00 M33-6 and none of the games are working.
I can't even get Tetris to work!
I transfer the DSONPSP file to my Game Folder (not the DSONPSP Source file). Then Put my .NDS roms in the NDSROM folder. Start the Emulator up, select the language as English, then push Start.

I get Black screen then the PSP crashes.

any help?

It works with phoenix wright ^^ but very slow , and the screen overlap with each other on the edges. It is still very good work , many thanks to the team.

i have tested dragon ball z supersonic warriors 2 and it (for me) freezes as soon as it shows the copyright stuff on the right i am using the (u) version if that matters since i heard it runs well and i've tested zoo keeper it has an average of 10fps some graphical glitches (blue screens) but thats it

Here's an idea to getting past the save data problems have you or anyone else tried transfering save's from a real DS/DS Lite/DSi and put them into the sav folder in this emulator, then the game should in theory start up ok????

And yes i know what people are going to say, that if you have a real DS then why use this emulator, i suppose its just fun mucking about with emulators, seeing how good they are or not as the case maybe, and to try & get as many games working as possible, here another idea for emulator, if the .sav's work from a real DS on here, then upload them for people who don't have DS, so they can play the games themselves, a sort of database could be made on this site.

yoshis island runs at 18-21 fps in the beginning movie/intro whatever it is, and about 12 while actually playing, not too bad for a beta

ok i got it to work you hafta put the source code files on root of mem stick and emu files in game under dsonpsp then put ndsrom file in dsonpsp and roms files in ndsroms! wrks good jus needs fps increased! good job yoshihero! cant wait for more realeases! most games wrk! I'm using a Phat PSP on 5.00 M33-6 with 1.50 kernel. and it works fine.

quite slow though, but at the rate of these updates, i reakon they will have a full 20fps emulator for the ds in no time

The DS is shit, like i've never seen a poor handheld like it ever!!!!!!! Ok the DS might have alot of games but it's got nothing on the PSP, PSP will leave it for dead. I got the DSonPSP BETA 6 to work CFW 5.50 mhu it won't load GTA chinatown wars yet, btw do you remember the very 1st GTA that was made for PC-it sort of looks like that in a way. I only want some roms to work so my kids can play them

i have a ds and a r4. tryed 2 the .sav from the r4 got past the loading screens. after 5mins and got a black screen and a horrible noise so they work they just need more speed aint playerble without it i want 2 try and find a fix for this. might take me a while cus i aint got a clue wat to do. any help on where i shud start?

i installed the 1.50 kernel with 5.02 gen a but it seems to not work when i select the game then put the configurations. maybe it only works on some games. what games did you use.
