Daedalus R10 Optimization Updates

Submitted by greg; March 18, 2007

StrmnNrmn sharing his Daedalus R10 optimization strategies and progress in the latest blog. It details various methods used to further achieve stable, and playable, N64 emulation on the PSP. Ending on this delightful and suspenseful note --
Overall these three changes give a combined 10-15% speedup on the various games I've tested, although there are roms that lie outside this range (some show an even greater speedup while others are more or less unaffected by the changes).
R10 is looking quite promising! Read full article

I think Smash Bros. is still a little while away, He said he was going to focus on speeding up the games meaning he isnt going to work as much on compatability of what isnt running until later and from what Ive seen Smash Bros. still has ALOT of graphical errors to be fixed before it can be deemed playable, but we can still dream.

I think this emulator is amazing. I never would have thought that the psp would emulator the N64 at even 15 fps and now I see perfect framerates in Mario 64 sometimes... that's just crazy. My opinion? - - I think Mario 64 will be 95% full speed in under 3 months (with audio).

If he switches to ME, his speed will shoot way up!!! This release speed, next should be compatibility. I am thinking after this release, speed will just be small issues with certain games, so that's why i think he should try compat next release.

Take forever just to add one little simple thing. Fucknutz should stick to hacking old NES Super Mario Bros. games.

N64 emu is on the pc faaar from perfect ( it's playable at decent speeds yes , but it doesnt attain the level of snes or psx emulation) , so i don't think a decent 64 on the psp is feasable
Oh well we'll see

golden eye needs to be fixed for the next realease! thank about it, its one of the best fps ever, and it only had one joystick! it would be perfect for the psp.
that and then wifi multiplayer would make this one of the best assets to the psp scene ever!
