Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-4 Released

Beep beep -- get out the way and make some room... Special delivery from Dark_AleX: custom firmware 5.00 M33-4. 5.00 M33-4 changes:

Speed selected for UMD/ISO was not properly locked in some new games that used scePower_EBD177D6 instead of scePowerSetClockFrequency to change speed.
UMD/ISO speed settings now apply to PSN games too.
Fixed libupdown.prx connecting to dark-alex.org instead of Sony when npsignin_plugin checks for a new version and M33 update is enabled.
ISO file descriptor was not closed in driver deletion.
Added a shutdown command to vshmenu.

Has anyone tried testing their internet connection in network settings? In my case, it obtains the IP address from the router but it just gets stuck in testing the internet connection. However when I connect to the internet using the browser or Playstation Network everything is fine. This has been the case since 5.00 m33-3 or lower I think.

I'm still on CFW 3.71
I love it,Everything works like a dream.

Now I need to know that all the Emu's will work on this
(NES,SNES....)

Also, Can I just download the
"Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-4 Update"

And install over my 3.71?

It has always been that way if you choose to enable that option in the recovery menu.

But anyway my vsh menu does not appear and yes it is enabled in recovery menu....

No clue how to fix it.

dont worry i fixed my so called BUG, i had a program i cant remember what its called but it lets you put diffrent effects on your psp its called tweak something or some tweak, as soon as i got rid of it its fine, i guess that program causes alot of problems, coz its caused alot for mine on 5.00 m33-4 psp fat.

that's what my problem is too i used the tweak display and the vsh menu would'nt open and freeze but when i deleted that plugin it worked well

Yes you can update directly from 3.71m33 to 5.00m33-4

I use 1.50 kernel to play emus, it works fine

if u want to update, upgrade to 5.00m33 then apply the 5.00m33-4 patch

It doesnt matter if he makes cfw 5.01m33.
you still need to find a way to downgrade your psp so you can use any cfw.and dont bother asking how to do it here.use google.

it shouldn't matter. just change the version.txt or something and enable using that in the recovery, it should be by default. If you have official firmware higher than 5.00, or any other official besides 1.50, you need to downgrade or use pandora. no need to update to the newest firmware haha.

Keep getting incorrect file when verifing 500.pbp file.
have d/l'd file 3 times and have upgraded another psp with same files?

Make sure you completely turn off (cold boot, press and hold power switch about 5 seconds or remove battery out and put back) ur psp. One click power switch on (no need to press and hold power switch) and hold R triger. I update both my psp fat and slim, all work fine.

and change game folder from 1.50 kernel to whatever the other kernel is you have.

My NES Emulator (Nester) and my GBASP emulator both havent worked since I upgraded to the 5.00 M33-x firmwares...everything else works fine...

Anyone else have this problem?

i managed to get v5.02 into my mob-psp.

Hi Links,

I upgraded from 3.90 M33-3 and all the emulators still work. The emulators in the folder \PSP\GAME380\ did not appear on my PSP after the upgrade. You need to move everything from the \PSP\GAME380 folder to the \PSP\GAME150\ folder and they will appear back on the PSP. Cheers

PLs.. help me.... I'm on 3.71 m33 i tried many times updating my PSP to a 5.00 m33-4 then when the installation have reached to 92% it always show the error
" The Update failed. Contact technical support for assistance. (FFFFFFFE). "

after this.... my PSP will only boot a black screen... i do always use a pandora just to turn my PSP back to 3.71 again...

Hi pple, I hve since upgrade my fw fr 3.90>4.01>5.01>5.01m33-4 but after my last upgrading progress, I noticed that some of the games with I have completed earlier have diff in ontinue again. coz it shows loading failed N data is corrupted.
