Still having problems accessing the PSN Store? Try this on for size -- Dark_AleX's custom firmware 5.00 M33-3. You'll find it fits just right. CFW 5.00 M33-3 changes:

A bug was introduced in 5.00 M33-2 that made some games and homebrew not to work.
PSN version check is now automatically bypassed without need of touching any setting.

I finally managed to fix the PSN Store frozen download problem on my PSP... I just used Psardumper to get the original npinstaller_plu gin.prx from the 5.00 OFW update and used it to replace the one in the VSH/MODULE folder. I don't know if it's the sort of thing I'd recommend but it is working now without any problems (And I have a 8GB SanDisk MS)

I kinda have the same problema that slackbabbath have. Cant load game profile in FIFA 09: "Load failed. The data is corrupted.(8010306). Any idea’s what it could be?

Btw, back in 3.90m33, I used GAME380 folder to run homebrew like pspvnc, in 5.00m33, I tried GAME500 but didn't work. Again, any idea’s what it could be?

UPDATE: I decided to experiment a little as I wasn't convinced that my solution was completely satisfactory.
I used psardumper on the 5.01 OFW update to get the newer npinstaller_plu gin.prx. Seeing as I am still able to download from the PS Store I can only assume the problem was with the way Dark Alex dumped the plugin for his earlier fix. So if you have problems downloading from the PS Store my advice is to dump the plugin yourself using Psardumper and the 5.01 OFW update as I believe the file is affected by the model number (Or even serial number...)of the PSP it is dumped on.

I tried everything. I kept rebuilding the image with different rips from different programs (.img from Alcohol120%, .bin from magiciso. etc) and I rebuilt them differently each time with either PSX2PSPv1.4.2 or ZingaBurga's PopstationGui v3.00. And I tried all of the different settings, and enabling this and enabling that. Finally I got sick of look at the video in the menu, so I built it with a .iso file in PSX2PSP and removed the video pmf, and it worked.

Makes no sense to me, but whatever lol.

Theres a bug with 5.00 m33-3 whenever you access the m33 vsh menu (with select) and then you try to get out of it (with select again) it freezes and then I have to turn it off manually and then i just turn it on again. Its not that big of a problem but it gets pretty annoying will this bug be fixed in the 5.01 m33 update?

BRICKED MY PSP. I have a Phat and ran network updated using XMB from 5.01M33-2. Now the background shows but XMB never comes up. Battery pull doesn't help. Hitting select brings up the mini menu, but no settings changes/pull memory stick/etc. help.

Can anyone help, I'm freaking out! I don't have a pandora batter, I've been doing all this from memory stick.

I get a different problem that im trying to figure out. hey can anybody…ANYBODY tell me how to fix the problem with switching discs when playing a game with more than one disc? i have CFW 5.00 M33-2 installed and it works great. And i have driver 2 for psx ( 2 discs game) and when the screen tells me to swap discs…. i try to do it by clicking on the “Switch Discs” option and it tells me ” The game did not prompt you to switch discs. To switch discs and start another game, select [Reset Game].” This is anoying. I cant continue to play the rest of driver 2 cause it wont switch Discs right. Maybe is still not meant to work right in 5.00 firmware…or i probably didnt convert it right. but i think i did.sorry for the long post. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!

wen ofw 5.01 wasnt released i tried tried to acces psn store but it never worked. it said a dnas error has occured or cant load dnas or dnas timed out. will this firmware fix this problem if not im happy to stay with 5.00 m33-2.

I had this happen with Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 9.

Try this if you have TWO eboots (one for each disk).

Save before you have to switch disks.
Then when it asks you to switch disks, quit the game entirely.
Then load the eboot for the next disk and load the last save.

I personally don't remember the Driver 2 save protocol. But if you can save right before it asks you to swap disks this should work.

I'll check back to see how your going, so let me know it it works.

On a side note the disk swap option is actually reserved for multi-disk boots. For instance my Final Fantasy VII game is one eboot with all three disks patched together in it. So with disk swap I can freely jump between the embedded disks to do thing such as load a game state on disk two (even though the eboot automatically loads disk one upon start up). I like this way because I don't have to constantly hook my PSP up to my computer if I beat a disk. I found it an annoyance on trips.

Phats don't need Pandora Batteries.

Run the recovery to get you back to version 1.5 then retry. I currently don't have this CF (frankly I'm researching if my old POPS will work),so I can't tell you where to get the specific file. But I wouldn't panic, I've fixed a ton of partial bricks with the recovery eboot (I hack all my friends PSPs, I'm pretty much PSP tech support for them).

As long as you can get into recovery mode you can reverse what you did. Also be patient, rushing to fix these errors usually leads to total bricks. Find the correct recovery eboot and the ver 1.5 update and its cake.

Thanks, Razor Fox. I figured out that I can get to the XMB by running the recovery menu on boot, attempting to run the recovery with no .pbp in the directory. It errors out and then returns to XMB. I figure that 5.01 is days away, so I'll wait for that, network update, and hopefully that'll fix it. If not I'll downgrade/updgrade.

cw cheat is working for me aswell as everything else except no 5.00 themes for cxmb just been useing the ones from the PSN Store haven't had any problems like the homebrew or games not working,the psx 32 bit icon or pmf video bugs, or any problems with online games and M33 VSH Menu is working fine too did a manual patch to fix the PSN Store on M33-2 so only upgraded to M33-3 cause of the game/homebrew bugs mentioned

Nevermin i fix the problem... forgot to set to -m33 no umd- and forgot to move the seplugin out of another seplugin.... anways 5.00m33 is pretty good.

I'm here to help you. you currently have the official firmware 5.00 rite? ok. Firstly, if you have the old psp (psp fat) you will need to have a pandora baterry to reset the firmware back to 1.50 and then add to watso ever firmware you have. to make a pandora baterry, you will need to read other guides as its a bit hard to explain. Same applies to psp slim.

Above, Razor Fox says that phat PSPs don't need pandora batteries. But you say they do. So which is it?

I tryed it already and it wont work. I made Driver 2 into a single eboot but i still get the same problem. I did save before it asked me to switch discs but no luck. and when i reset and load disc 2, it tells me "wrong disc inserted." So its so frustrating cuz i dont know what else to do. ama keep finding different ways to see if i find the solution. try downloading driver 2 and try it ur self. and let me know if it works for u or not.

I get the 80010013 error when I try to play anything I've downloaded off the PSN store, demo or legitimately bought (I have the red PSP with Syphon Filter). The key cleaner thing didn't work. Help?

I'll look into it, but I'd have to beat half the game to get to the problem (might be a while). I suggest getting the new Pandora Deluxe. It can load al the previous POPS loader onto your PSP for you.
Untick EVERYTHING then go to installation options. Enable 'Install POPSLoader' and let it go to work for you it takes a minute to transfer the files though.

Then enable the plug-in in recovery. This SHOULD let you chose the POPS you want for the game when you start it (move saved data off PSP and on to your computer before you attempt this). Try 3.40 (took me an hour and a half to find this suggested loader), I hope it works.
If not hold the right shoulder down while loading the game to bring up the other selectable POPS loaders.

Let me know if this helps.

Since I updated to 5.00 m33-3 the PSP fat doesn't startup in XMB, but starts automatically with UMD which is in the slot. Previously that was not the case. Checked recovery mode where startup of XMB is listed. Anyone have this problem...and a solution ???

After installing update to 5.33-3 my psp starts up from UMD and not from XMB. Didn't have that previously. Settings in recovery mode are ok (startup XMB no UMD)

sounds like the "auto-start" feature was turned back on when you updated your FW. all you need to do is turn on the PSP without the umd in it and go to system settings in the far left drop down menu and turn off the "auto-start". I feel your pain, it used to drive me insane.

I upgraded from 3.90m33-3 to 5.00m33-3 on both my slim and phat

on my phat it work perfectly fine but on my slim it does not work it upgrade and then when i turn it off it bricks and have downgrade it to 2.71m33 what the deal with this?

He needs a battery to get out of OFFICIAL firmware. The other person I was talking to was stuck in a CUSTOM firmware glitch. This little difference made for the confusion, you see the Pandora Battery wouldn't help in that case as his issue lies in glitch in M33, the battery might help in this on since you get around official programing. I hope that clears it up.

Keep in there with the hacking, it gets easier over time.

Get the newest pandora deluxe. Hook it up to your psp and untick every box, go to installation options and tick 'POPSLoader'. It will install a POPS loader with a popsloaders installed. Enable it in the recovery mode.
Hold the right shoulder button while loading the Eboot to bring up the the options, mess around with them(I did some research, 3.02 or 3.4 may yield better results)
In case of a freeze hard reset (hold power switch up for about 10 seconds or till the PSP is off, then restart). Then try the same thing, this time with a different loader.

If that doesn't work use the pops gui to rip out the ISO of the second eboot, the create a new one from that ISO.

Let me know if there's any progress.

Yeah PSX games work in 5.00m33 popsloader, but when it gets to FMV's locks up, if i try to use older version of pops it won't start game.

I have a psp (fat). used network update to update from 4.01m33 to 5.00m33, about 90%++ updating an error appeared (error FFFFFFF). Now when i try to on my psp i just see the green light light up for a moment then it disappears. My screen is blank all the time while attempting to turn the psp on.

Okay, been awhile since I upgraded my PSP. Last time I went up 3.90 M33-2, and didn't upgrade after that, heard a lot of horror stories about 4.01 and the like, and since iRShell has been updated...yeah, needing a bit of help.

uhmm.. help! I upgraded my FW from 3.80 m33-5 to 5.00 m33 to 5.00 m33-4. when I tried playing 2 of my games (namely FF:Dissidia, and FIFA 09) they both showed the same error: "Load failed. Ok, I'm pretty new and this will be my first time hacking my psp. I understand how the pandora's battery works but I only have a mac and currently there arent any full mms packages out except an older one, I think i have 3.8 or somthing like that on my current mms. Couldn't I just go into my mms, go to psp>games and replace the old eboot file with this new one containing the 5.00 m33? or would I have to find an entire new package?
