CFW 6.39 ME-2 Installer for OFW 6.39

Installing neur0n's 6.39 ME-2 just got a whole lot easier -- no longer is a previous HEN or CFW required -- you can now install CFW 6.39 directly on-top of OFW 6.39. Get updated to the latest firmware from Sony, then run this installer. That's it, that's all. And nothing has changed with respect to compatibility; PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 (pre-TA-088v3) are still the only models supported. Unfortunally this "signed" installer is lacking features and kernel detection.

If you have 6.3x than it will install just fine on hackable mobos, but if you have lower than 6.3x than it will just crash to XMB, and that is cause it's using "Some1's" exploit and signed to install.

What Neuron need to do to make it fully friendly is to implemente kernel and G detection and than execute kernel exploit corresponding to found kernel and than the installer.

Try installing this from OFW 5.00, 6.00 and you'll see what I mean.

This happend to me with 5.00 first and 6.20 second, cause I used pandora on my 1000 and tested and no good, only work on 6.3x when running without HEN.

Love this, both Joysens and Remote Joy Lite work with this, I think the battery bar replacement plugin caused it not to boot. But overall great, glad to see CFW's that are more recent popping up.

Glad I have two PSP's. This installer isn't bad, however I still think the 6.20 PRO-B5 Perma Patch is better. Still I love the PSP-Hacks site, always something new and helpful =]

This is the first CFW since 5.50 that I haven't had an issue installing, all the ot hers either didn't work right or would brick my psp. This one was fast and easy (thats what she said).

Just wondering why you would do any of that at all. It says very plainly that it's for installing on 6.39ofw. Of course it's gonna crash if you don't follow the instructions.

As far as updating from 5.00Prm-4 I've done it about 4 times without a problem. 5.50Prome-4 has that whole 9.90version.txt that tries to block you from updating. I think that's about the only real problem anyone has with it. It is in every way better though. I haven't had to patch a game since I updated to 6.37me-7 from 5.00Prm-4. On the rare occasion a game doesn't work (usually cause it's already patched), just switch drivers. I'm not sure about PSN access, since it's been down since 6.38ME-1, but I could use it on 6.38me-1 & 6.37me-7. Then you have plug-in's. Plug-ins for 6.3xME & 6.xxPro are constantly being updated & developed. I still have 5.00m33/prm-4 w1.50 add-on with my Phat, I just can't bring myself to lose the ir capabilities. Hoping Arnold's shell will pick em up, lol. On my slim I am more than happy with what 6.39ME-2 will do.

I tried that & didn't have a problem with my slim 88v2, but for some reason when using tempar 1.62-3, dbz tt crashes after about ten minutes. No problem without TempAR, might just be an incompatible plug-in.

hi all i need help i've just instaled 639 cfw but it only plays 1 or 2 games and wen i try put any on all i get is a blue icon insted of the pic of the game and wen i try to play it it say's can not start.plz help. im on psp1000 and the games are in the iso folder iv got 2 games that play well.

Try switching Iso drivers for the other games. If you previously patched a game you'll have to use the driver you patched it for. Ex. M33/OE/sony

Upon further testing the plugin was "TimeBatteryPerc ent version 3.1" , As for charging I am charging OK (the icon itself animates) but when the charge is full the light changes between green and orange, where with previously it would be a solid colour.

I haven't gotten to use 6.39 ME2 very much, but so far it's compatible with all my plugins for 5.00 M33-6. I was initially planning on just checking it out then downgrading again, but it's really awesome how well this works compared to how long 6.39 has been out :D.

Hello everyone, I'd like to try out this new CFW. I'm trying to update to the OFW 6.39 from 5.50 Prometheus-4, but it says "The system software of your PSP system is version 9.90. There is no need to update." I'm not using any plugins and the version.txt file is disabled. What should I do?

Wow, you read far more into that than I meant. Nowhere did I imply that you were some noob or that you didn't know what you where doing. It was pretty apparent that you were testing it in different situations. I was simply asking why. While you are very good at English, it is obviously not your first language. I'm not misreading it you just aren't very clear whether you believed it would work under those situations or not. Which is why I asked the reason you were doing all these tests. This installer is meant to install 6.39ME-2 on a pre-installed 6.39ofw. There is no possible way it install from a 5.xx or 6.2x kernal because this installer doesn't contain a 6.39ofw updater like the unsigned neuron installers. If it will install under another 6.3x ofw, I doubt it will have full functionality or at the least it would be very buggy in the long term. It just doesn't have the resources to update the kernal & install the cfw. A simple I was experimenting would have done.

Not via the USB Connector no, You can however get a USB to the power Jack normally a 2 in 1 so it has USB to the USB Connector and Power connector

It is a shame Time Battery Percent does not work, because the default battery indicator does not give enough info for my liking.

or you can get the Pelican 3 in 1 for PSP (Power Jack only) and DS chargers on a USB which comes with a Wall/Car Charger as well. I'll normally charge my DSi and PSP at the same time with it so it's a great buy for me.

From the XMB, press select to access the VSH menu. From there go to UMD ISO MODE and change it from NORMAL to M33 driver. This change allowed me to play the only game I have on my PSP at the moment...... ANGRY BIRDS!!!!! Yyyyyeeeaahhhhh ... take dat, take dat piggss...... take dat!!!

hi, i updated to 6.39 and then ran your fix.
I can do all the normal stuff like video and games, but when i try to use most of the options in the settings my PsP crashes. things like USB connection, systemsettings and so on. is there a way to fix this? cause i cant connect it to the PC anymore seeing how the connect USB crashes my system. I have a psp-1000.
i can upgrade to 6.40 via the sony update system, but i havnt come across any fixes or any way to downgrade from this version. hope somebody can help me.
