6.20 TN HEN Now Supports Plugins

I know... More updates and no release, right? Well hang tight because it's nearing -- you can feel it. Total_Noob has shared another update concerning his homebrew enabler, which now is said to support PSP plugins (or PRX modules). This isn't to be confused with this post; I believe that relates to homebrew which depends on its own prx(s) for whatever reason.

Let me quote TN:

Today I just add plugins support to my TN HEN. Most of the plugins will not work, because lots of plugins are desgined for 5.XX. I perhaps may update some plugins for you, like cxmb, dayviewer. The VshMenu now has a new option FAST SCROLL MUSIC (thanks to Torch who allows me to use it).

Hello greg, I just wanted to ask (sorry to ask again but I didn't understand your response), but for those on the hotshots exploit (or 6.31 hack), can we use the downgrader or is TN going to release what was said to be (in other posts) a port of the HEN to 6.31 because the kernel is similar (again something said in other posts/I just want to confirm). Thanks for keeping up with the updates and kudos to the devs & admins.

i updated my friends psp to 6.35 and i easily downgraded it with a pandora battery and a mms....so i dont see if any psp 1k and 2k user would have a problem if they upgraded or not

Custom Firmware is written to the Flash so it boots every time you turn on the PSP.

HEN is indeed just a Homebrew Enabler.

With all the features incorporated, I'd just call it a Hybrid.

As for the rest of you, no TN wont add ISO support himself. Hes against piracy. Wait til its released and if you dont support TN or think hes lying, do us all a favor and hit that Red "X" at the top of your window.

I currently have 5.00 M33-6. I upgraded to 6.35 so I could use the Playstation Store to get the Gran Turismo Add-On. I easily transferred back to 5.00 M33-6 without any problems.

Upgraded mine to 6.35 for JPSN access for one of my games, other than that I can wait for some good news for the 3000. (I'd most likely use it to play my PS games rather than rebuy them from the network...)

why dont people read.the hen is a bit like chickHEN r2 it was a homebrew enabler but not long after it was released there was iso cso support. so when this is released there is going to be some hacker that will coed a iso support to this hen.the vsh menu is like a recovery menu and i think there will be a back up support has well so you can back up your games to your psp .only if you have a memery card with 4gb or higher .

and go on total_noob ,your hen is looking better and better every time you post cant wait only 6-10days till release.
bet you more people aree more excited about this than chrismas:)

This is CFW, ok no iso/cso support but hey, with relase of this TN HEN/CFW/Kernel Exploit will be a ISO/CSO loader (not included with the original TN release).

So no need to hope than GEN will come up trumps with CFW, TN has already done it for us its just the ISO/CSO loader that we will have to wait for and my guess is it will take a matter of hours after TN release so.... if you very luck you will have all you have been longing for before xmas.

Thats my understanding, he may put the project with 6.20 HEN.

So its best to stay on oyur firmware until we hear word form TN. After all, no harm in having to upgrade later if TN says "no it wont be on 31 anymore"

Since this supports plugins i recommend that everyone gets "HOLD" ON THEIR psp. HOLD is a plugin where if you put your psp in hold the screen turns off and the processor goes down to 22 mhz so it conserves battery amazingly. just recommending ii to people who don't have cfw and are getting this hen. Personally i never use it on my cfw because i can just turn it off, but for hen i think it could be a necessity.

the 6.31 HEN was being developed along side the 6.20 HEN, which both were originally scheduled to be released together before christmas.

It may be included with the 6.20 release, but it most likely will not.

HOWEVER, until the 6.20 HEN comes out and we officially get word from TN, its still advised you do NOT update your psp.

It is OFW that has been customised, i know a simple version has been known as a HEN in the past but this is far from simple it has all the kool shit gen includes with there CFW and more... just no iso loader, but that will be just round the corner you can bet your ass on it!

To an extent anyways

Custom Firmware is modified code to replace sony's original firmware to allow the use of homebrew applications, and POPSloader/ISO/CSO support. Its loaded in place of the OFW on Flash0.

HEN is a Temporary Firmware which masks over OFW, allowing the use of unsigned code (AKA, Homebrew), and does not guarantee ISO/CSO/POPS support. This is loaded into Flash1-3 (If I'm not mistaken, I could be wrong), which is the reason why it "goes away" after a cold boot.

CFW is more complicated than modifying "version.txt". It is an heavy modified version of Sony's OFW.

yea, i heard there was a 6.10 hack, but couldnt dig anything up on it so I just dropped it.

But if he managed to get a HEN on the 6.xx kernel, Jealous or not, I, for one, appreciate you giving good tidings to TN ^^ And if he's reading this, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Even if there is the 6.10 exploit, This is still Ground breaking, especialyl because now, once he releases the vsh exploit for the current firmware, its means ANY (If I'm not mistaken) psp 3K and Go can utilize this VSH exploit, which then will allow HENs to spread like wildfire. This in itself is a huge milestone for our community.

Kudos to you for your kind words, and Kudos to TN and Wololo for their efforts, which finally have bore fruit!

Actually a custom firmware is just Sony's official firmware modified to run unsigned code. It typically includes an ISO loader, plugin loader, and a recovery menu. However, those are not required for the title of "custom firmware". As long as the firmware is modified to run unsigned code, it's a custom firmware.

A HEN (HomebrewENbler ) is a little bit different. It's simply a memory patch (does not touch the flash or modify the firmware), in which allows a user to run unsigned code, as long as they do not shutdown their PSP's (because the memory gets cleared). This is usually used as door way to install a custom firmware or downgrade.
