5.00 M33 Recovery Fix Resurfaces

This isn't new but I missed its release way back in '09 when Dark_AleX's forums were still up, and really it's not an issue for many... Anyway, recently this original fix resurfaced, so here you go: Dark_AleX's 5.00 M33 Recovery Fix. What does it fix? When toggling the "Use version.txt" option, the "Speed up MS access" option would change too -- just an annoyance. Copy recovery.prx to flash0:/vsh/module and you're good. danm even after a year the legend of dax still owns the psp scene. he was good at what he did. also i think that dax was not just one person but many thats why i think he left and returned as m33.

For anyone confused on how to get into your flash0, start by plugging your PSP into your computer via the USB cable. Go into the M33 Recovery Menu (turn your PSP off, then hold down the R-Trigger when you turn the PSP back on), and choose advanced and "Toggle USB (flash0)"

Your PSP should show up as a mounted disk on your computer now giving you access to the F0:/vsh/module directory to be able to replace the recovery.prx. Make sure to eject your PSP from the computer when done and toggle the USB back off from the Recovery Menu.

"HACKER MODE"? pressing ( DPADLEFT + RTrigger)

Or you could press the Select button and change USB DEVICE to flash0 and you can do it straight from the XMB. No recovery menu, no PSP Filer.

Anyway. This is useful mainly for a version.txt use. Like a 6.30 version.txt to comply with the latest UMDs and demos (I'm told ISOs work ok without it so it's up to you in the end).

This "could" be considered 5.00 M33-7, however, Dark_Alex himself thought there was no need for an official release. That's probably because not many people knew about version.txt, or rather, they DIDN'T NEED ONE.

Well this is late, but many users, include me of course, still are in 5.00m33, i've migrated to Gen but my Phat PSP, sometimes, reseting while playing some games, slow to turn off, and others errors...
When i backed to 5.00 NO MORE ERRORS! yay D_A come back to us your moron!!!

i can connect to the flash0 directories but i don't have a module directory in the vsh directory. is that because i installed ultimate vsh menu final? can i just make a module directory and copy the recovery.prx into it?

oh nevermind, i had to change my folder options in windows explorer to not hide protected operating system files as the modules folder was hidden.
