This is the reason I'm still running 3.71 m33 [4]. It is very stable and there are only like one or two games that want run on it.

1. Download the new PSAR dumper from Dark Alex.
2. Download the official 3.71 firmware update.
3. Place the 3.71 update (named EBOOT.PBP) on the root of the memory stick.
5. Start up PSP, run newpsardumper from the XMB. Use [] button to decrypt all.
6. Reset the PSP, go into recovery menu. Go to advanced, toggle "flash 0" on. On your computer, open the folder "F0". Find "fatmsmod.prx", copy it to root of memory stick.
7. Put the fatmsmod patcher into your "psp/game" folder, then run it.
Done.

BTW that rapid share link is illegal and will probably be deleted. It's illegal to distribute Sony's firmware that way.
Get it while it's hot!

I've noticed there is a "HUGE" difference between Normal & Patched.
benefit:
-Faster loading ( r/w memory )
-If use CSO, just lag a little bit, not lagging awfully (before patched).
tested game:
-NFS Pro CSO
-God Of War CSO
-Valhalla Knights 2 CSO
-Disgaea CSO
( All get faster loading time! )
This is a must have patch if you use CFW above 3.71

This worked great for me too. Haven't seen about the japanese filenames though.

I tried the replacing the 94k fatmsmod.prx with the 186k file (CRC 7f256ad2)found on the link above from the recovery menu on the PSP on the KD folder and I still can't unbrick it.
I also renamed the fatmsmod.prx 186k file to fm371.prx and replaced the one that was there, and still no luck.
Can anyone tell me what else I need to do in order to make my PSP Fat boot back to normal? I only have one PSP console, don't know of anyone else who might lend me theirs to unbrick mine.
Could anyone post a link to a site where the original files from firmware 5.0 that were replaced by this patch?

Read in some forums that u need to change it to M33 driver to get the effect. Please clarify this

I have a little problem concerning the FatmsMod in 5.00 M33-3. I extracted "fatmsmod.prx" from the official 3.71 firmware, moved it to the root of my memory stick, ran the patch normally from the XMB, it went just fine, then my PSP rebooted itself and now it won't run at all. I turn it on, the power light turns on, screen stays off and it turns off by itself after a few seconds. I can get to the recovery menu though, holding the R trigger when turning on my PSP, however I cannot execute GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP, the screen goes blank and my PSP turns off again after a few seconds. It looks like I'm screwed, the "fatmsmod.prx" was probably corrupted, I don't know, but now it looks like I can't read anything from my memstick, what should I do? What CAN I do? Please help me :(
--------------------------------
EDIT:
Citar:
For all the ppl who semi-bricked their psps
Recovery doesnt work not even using Hellcats recovery,
Just use ur pandora if u have if u dont shame on you
I think the culprit is if you use fatmsmod.prx with a size of 94.1 KB (96,432 bytes) which is
encrypted/compressed.
The one that worked for me was the fatmsmod.prx with 186kb unencrypted
I think D_A should block the use of the encrypted version...
Anyone can confirm this, cuz i bricked mine using the 94.1 KB file.
Crap, I did use the encrypted version... great, now I'm fucked because I don't have a pandora battery. Why the hell does it even start patching with the smaller fatmsmod.prx? It does say it works with decrypted AND encrypted (unsigned) one. God damn.
--------------------------------
EDIT2:
Citar:
Download the decrypted fatfsmod.prx 186kb from somewhere (think someone has posted it in this thread) and Toggle Flash0 from recovery. Rename the fatfsmod.prx to fm371.prx and paste it in the kd folder overwriting the old one.
Thank you so much Torch, this actually worked. However when I confirmed "toggle flash0", Windows came up with some kinda error (using Vista 64bit), and I couldn't see the "kd" folder in Explorer, but when I tried to create one, it said there already is a folder by that name... So I renamed the 186kb fatfsmod.prx to fm371.prx, moved it into a folder "kd" I created on my desktop, and then moved the whole folder to flash0 and when it asked me if I want to merge folders I clicked yes, then it asked me if I want to overwrite the fm371.prx, I clicked yes once again...
And now it works again, sweet! You're my hero.

Hellcat's recovery flasher is an absolute must have if you don't have a Pandora. I don't know why everyone doesn't use it, honestly.

from the KD folder from flash 0 file to fm371.prx, it didn't solved the problem.
The Recovery option doesn't work either.
Any other ideas that DO work?

7. Put the fatmsmod patcher into your “psp/game” folder, then run it.
- Step 6 is totally wrong. You're supposed to get the fatmsmod.prx from the "f0/kd/" folder in the root of your memory stick after dumping it. If you followed the above steps, you'll end up with the same 5.00 M33's fatmsmod.prx because you're simply taking it from your PSP flash memory (in this case, 5.00 M33's).

5. Start up PSP; run new psardumper from GAMES, use [] (Square) button to decrypt all.
6. USB connect to pc, open the folder 'F0' in your root memory and find 'fatmsmod.prx'. Copy to root of your memory stick.

185kb 3.71 PRX Unencrypted:

-Don't use the encrypted fatmsmod.prx 95kb but instead use the 185kb decrypted one.
-vshmenu.prx and cfe.prx (custom firware extender v2.2) may not work after patch
-Playstation Network may not work after patch
Questions:
1. Format there whole MS for patch use?
2. Need to set to M33 driver instead of Sony N9660?
3. Possible to patch or unpatch back to the fatmsmod 5.00?

Instructions: decrypt 3.71 using psardumper (square option).
Copy the file fatmsmod.prx in the root of memory stick.
Copy FATMS371 to /PSP/GAME or /PSP/GAME5XX. Run the program and done.
Nothing about Flash0

Seriously, thank you very much for this post and the kd folder trick. Saved me the trouble of making a pandora battery. Guess I should make one anyway but takes the pressure off.
